История про то как алкаши в подземелье выживали
This is the oldest game on my wishlist - it's been there for about 11 years - and I finally bought it. I've just got to level 3 and I can honestly say Exanima is a completely immersive experience. When I was younger I used to dream about a game where every swing of a sword counted, and where the hit landed determined what sort of damage you did. When I got too close to an enemy with a poorly-timed swing, I just ended up getting the hilt of my sword wrapped around his ear. Then we both fell over. It's incredible. The physics go beyond the combat too - carefully opening a door to check what's on the other side...building a rickety bridge by dragging old mattresses and ladders to cross a ravine, then hoping I don't get my leg stuck in a hole. Backing up from an enemy and accidentally standing in a bucket. Every encounter feels tense and superbly real. The mechanics of the weapons, armour and their condition - which is based on the fundamental quality of the item as well as the current condition of it - is deep and realistic. It ticks all of my obsessive inventory-management boxes. Early reviews of this game suggest it was little more than a tech demo, and considering its marathon Early Access status that wouldn't be surprising, but so far I've been surprised by the depth, intricacy and mystery of this strange world. While the environments are huge and occasionally repetitive, they are fleshed out with a surprising amount of detail that make this a masterclass in worldbuilding. Each area has its own living quarters, laundry facilities, toilets and kitchens. There are multiple morgues. A school. A courtroom. Much like games with a 'Post-Dark Souls' flavour, the world is littered with scrolls and books which gives glimpses into the fate of this abandoned society. Another clear influence from that lineage is item scarcity - Healing potions are like hen's teeth, and you've really got to scour every inch of the labyrinthine dungeons to find one. Expect to carefully navigate a treacherous corridor of traps, using the game's physics-bound flotsam and jetsam to manipulate pressure switches and levers (in a way that would make Indiana Jones proud), for the *vaguest* hope of finding a helmet, or a less rusty sword than the one you have. I slept on this game for way too long. FFO: Worldbuilding, immersive sims, tense dungeon crawling, roguelite, Arx Fatalis, Dark Souls
Is it janky? Sometimes. But im having A LOT of fun with this one. Devs also do a devblog almost every month, doesnt feel like its been abandoned
Автор игры садист, сбрендивший шизик. Испортить такую интересную задумку таким ублюдским управлением это нужно постараться... Не берите этот кал даже если бесплатно и вам нечего делать...
This game gives an intense experience and it does it with methodical, precise combat and a beautiful but stark, dark world full of mystery. You can pick it up and just play it with out having to do a bunch of tedious homework first which makes the experience so much better because you don't spoil the mystery before you start playing and that is rare thing. If you want a challenge that is unique check it out.
Clearly the key I'm missing is somewhere in the last four hours of dungeon under a flour sack I forgot to check.
AMAZING GAME. This game is so unique. It was hard to learn it but so worth it. The system is unlike anything I've ever played before. Physics based. Crazy how so responsive everything is. Also if you play arena you should make your first character the company 'manager' and then fight with recruits. Please keep developing this!
I WOULD recommend this, but for any new players, this game is tough as nails to get used to. Theres quality of life mechanics of course, but the feel of the combat is wonky yet satisfying. You desperately need to know how your character orients themselves, their footing, and how the enemy will respond to your own attempts at brutally mutilating them with a bardiche or the like. Lots of things to take into consideration. Level design is great, just confusing to navigate, and feels rewarding to explore(sometimes). Overall great physics based dungeon crawler/arena fighter.
One of the most unique rpg puzzle games i have ever played. the story is well thought out, though incomplete. the gameplay is insanely addictive, with multiple ways to play, especially in the campaign, i'm looting like crazy just trying to make my boy Darrin look snazzy. nothing feels Useless, even the crappy weapons can kill a man. they seem to want a game where if u think u could do it, then you should, and more and more they are implementing niche things that are just cool, like brushing your clothing to clean it off. very cool devs, very cool game. play arena if you are new though, don't start out with campaign, its really difficult and punishing. i think its one of the best RPGs ive ever played, and its not even in 1.0 yet. the only con is that for a while at least, development was slow, but its picked up again with them finalizing the engine rework. give these people your money and you wont be disappointed, if your patient anyways.
