I've never seen a game get this much support over such a long time. Huge respect to everybody involved making me come back to this year after year. A very unique and long running RPG experience that essentially mainstreamed the physics based combat model. There would be no Half Sword without Exanima. Cheers!
Ive played for 300 hours and i still hit Derrin in the face on accident
early access abandonware
sucks
the most unique game ever with great combat, physics system, and worldbuilding very slow development time but extremely dedicated developers don't let the look of the store page fool you, the store page hasn't been updated in almost a decade. the latest big update to the game came out in may 2026 and it looks way better than what the images show

GOOD TIME
Woe, chair be upon ye. Trips, *Clank* *Clank* *Clank*, You've been defeated This game is as clanky as the sounds that your armor makes when Sir throws you around Archives but its still an insanely good dungeon crawler. I've been observing the updates for a while and now finally decided to play it with release of a new patch. Combat? I wouldnt say its bad, it has its flaws but mostly fun, especially when that polehammer collides with enemy head. Physics? Somewhat similar to Skyrim except items dont fly around and you can actually enjoy decorating any room you choose as your headquarters. Movent and controls? Yup, the biggest flaw, you'll probably die falling into death pits more then you die from enemies, especially in lategame locations where you have to platform on smallest planks and etc. right above death pit that can take several hours of gameplay from you. Music? Its good, but there's not much of tracks playing in campaign mode, I got bored of them by the time I reached Crossroads. World design? Great, fun to explore (except The Gentry, hell no), quite immersive, you'll get lost and confused alot, especially if you're a topographic cretin like me. AI? Its there, sometimes good, sometimes dumb, sometimes hard, sometimes easy. Derrin? My goat, I hope they'll finish all his dialogues by the 1.0 release because all the dialogues you get through game makes him feel quite alive, shame they end by the time you reach Crossroads and he stays mostly silent. Lore? Interesting, first exploring somewhat default undead dungeon and then realising there's more then just default undead dungeon, but a whole fallen and now abandoned underground city, can't wait till they finish it. (Love the contrast between surface equipment being the realistic medieval and underground one being more fantasy-like). Overall? Its not expensive, its insanely good for price it sells for, just buy it to support devs and hope they will release Sui Generis some day. P.S. Back your saves up before you do the platforming, because with those clanky controls you'll fall and die with 99% chance and will have to replay several if not tens of hours because your character moved his leg 1cm off. (Call that skill issue but I spent like 2 hours (around 30 falls into abyss) in the Gentry sewer pipe area because game decided to spawn all healing items there and my character kept slipping or moving wrong direction, it wasnt a very pleasant experience at best).
