10/10 first RTS game i played and enjoied. The meta progression is motivating and the gameplay is very addicting. Also there are random dialogue events that make it so much fun to explore more of the game and learn what they do. Love it! <3

Very yes
faaaaancy Game
"Evostrike" is a minimalist top down RTS where some interesting design choices about unit evolution and so on were completely wasted when the developer decided not to bother with graphics at all, and didn't make any content for the game either. The RTS gameplay itself is fine and may have even gone somewhere if coupled with a quality technical implementation and meaningful level design, but that didn't happen. This looks bad compared to 1990's Flash games. This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy". Yes, contemporary 3D graphics take a lot of time and effort to create. That doesn't mean it's okay not to bother! Developers must try to understand that gaming is a visual medium, and gamers spend a lot of money on high end gaming rigs for a reason. And that reason is not so they can look at lazy, phoned-in half efforts like this. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
I mean heck. Its the squad vs horde of enemies at its bare bones and its lovely for it. no need to worry about anything other than losing your VERY experienced troops to the ever evolving enemy
Pretty fun game, hopefully some more map layouts come in the future. Would be cool to see abilities stack down trees as well as have more varied scrap between missions. I'm always going to choose the 3.12 over the 3.17 difficulty if the reward is going to be the exact same, ya feel? I played for 5 hours, I enjoyed my time so far, looking forward to what comes. At about difficulty 5 I always get overrun very quickly, not sure what a viable solution is for that game play wise. 9/10
fun for the 30 minutes or so i played. but i kept encountering a bug where every time i've chosen a mission to get a new recruit, the game goes into the mission and then nothing happens. my team doesn't move, supplies don't increase, no aliens attacking. if there was a maybe recommendation, that's what i would put. edit: dev fixed the bug, changing to recommend. thanks for fixing that dev!
Just tried this today... So far, I love it! Its simple, but not like you think. Different comps work better for different situations. So far, Very Addicting game!
