About
EvilTrap: Prologue is a standalone psychological-horror experience that introduces the world, tone, and terror behind the upcoming full game.
This short chapter invites you into a sinister village that wants to keep you trapped forever. The environment shifts as you move, and the atmosphere tightens with every step. This prologue opens the door to an evil that you thought had ended... but it is just the beginning.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
An Oppressive Atmosphere: The environment is built to feel heavy and sinister as you explore the village.
Micro-scares & Jumpscares: Using the same logic from my previous game, Horror Story: Hallowseed, this prologue features a mix of scripted moments and dynamic events to keep you on edge.
The Constant Fear System: Experience a groundbreaking sensory technology that transcends traditional sound design.
Physiological Immersion: Unlike standard horror games, EvilTrap utilizes a proprietary system that triggers instinctive biological responses, simulating the feeling of being watched.
Dynamic Stress Feedback: Feel your own heart rate reflected in the world around you. The environment's "pulse" accelerates as your panic rises, blurring the line between the game and reality.
Mystery First: I have carefully hidden the plot to avoid spoilers. You will experience a fraction of the mechanics and story, keeping the full nightmare in total secrecy while giving you a glimpse of the entities involved.
A Focused Experience: A short, intense horror atmosphere designed to be completed in one sitting. Easy and simple, just to give you a free taste of what is to come.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This is a one-man project. This prologue is a free entry point to the EvilTrap universe, intended to showcase the mood of the game, not to deliver a full-length AAA experience. If you enjoy atmospheric indie horror with a personal touch and a deep respect for the mystery, you are in the right place.
100% Solo Dev: No AI-generated content. I code and develop everything myself. This is a one-man project from start to finish.

It’s a free game, and it’s a really good one. I’ve played paid titles that don’t deliver half of what this short free experience offers. 1. Extremely well optimized for an Unreal Engine 5 game. We all know how demanding UE5 games can be nowadays, even big studios struggle with performance. This one runs surprisingly smooth. 2. Amazing level design. The layout feels intentional and immersive. 3. Incredible sound design. 4. Strong atmosphere. I give it a solid 9/10. That extra 1 point will come the moment the developer makes that demon chase me… 😈 Please do it!

Eviltrap: Prologue had great atmosphere and photorealistic visuals which helped with immersion. Mix that with great audio and you'll practically taste the dinge and dirt location of Hallowseed as you explore the abandoned town. However, upon my first playthrough, I had some difficulty navigating my way as there were no visual indicators showing where to go next. But once I figured out the way forward, this game progressed at a decent pace. The controls were easy to use, and the jumpscares were imaginative and unpredictable. I give Eviltrap: Prologue a 4/5 - Worth Playing My rating system: 1 = Horrible game. Don't even look at it. 2 = Bad game. 3 = Average. Its neither good nor bad. 4 = Worth Playing. 5 = Must play!
O jogo é bom. É de graça. E tem gente de falando bosta. Não merece review negativa, merece apoio pra continuar. Tem muito jogo pago que não chega nem aos pés desse, eu acredito que a versão full vai ser fenomenal se a gente apoiar.
It's not Eviltrap. It's a demo, made with a lot of detail and at the same time it's just a small glimpse of what the developer plans for his horror universe. I played Hallowseed, and it was the last game I reviewed until today. What Jeff Winner shows in this EvilTrap: Prologue demo is something that few can understand. He has a style, and he follows it. I was amazed at how he brought back the entire atmosphere of Hallowseed, but in a superior way. I'm looking forward to playing EvilTrap.
great game, i really enjoyed it and its my first horror
Evil Trap: Prologue was a great experience from start to finish. The game was genuinely scary and kept me on edge the whole time. The difficulty felt just right—not too easy, not too frustrating—so it stayed fun without getting overwhelming. The graphics were really solid and helped build the creepy atmosphere even more. And honestly, the best part? It’s free. You’re getting a high-quality horror experience without spending anything, which makes it an easy recommendation. Definitely worth checking out if you like scary games. 🔥
The graphics are good (but if you have a potato like me, then be prepared to run on low settings...) and the music is acceptable, but the gameplay is utterly uninspired, consisting almost entirely of roaming around tight "corridors" of hay bales, fences, gasoline drums etc. as you are funneled from one decrepit house to the next, with occasional jump-scares, a diaphanously thin plot and the absolute lamest ending ever (I mean the creature is practically floating as it stalks towards you, as you stand and do nothing). Hey, for the price of free you might as well give it a shot, but this is not sophisticated storytelling or gameplay, basically "jump-scare" the demo. Not really recommended.
An awesome experience here in this game. Great graphics and eerie atmosphere. The abandoned village is never a safe place to go, especially in an ever changing environment that leads to a cemetery. Hallowseed is alive and ready to get creepy. See my playthrough here: https://youtu.be/F8nCLMSPXOk
love what i seen cant wait for full game
