About

Try this year’s indie smash hit for free, with Evergate Ki’s Awakening

When a lost soul named "Ki" awakens in the afterlife, her path back to earth is blocked by the ‘Evergate’. To return home, Ki must decipher her mysterious connection to kindred spirit as she navigates through memories of a time once past.

Complete each level by reaching the end gate. Analyse the environment, plan your route, and use the mysterious crystals to your advantage.

Precisely align your Soulflame between crystals and a white surface. Fire a beam of energy and watch as you smash through, releasing powerful energies that will aid your pursuit of the end gate.

Each type of crystal scattered throughout each memory holds their own unique power. Experiment with them and discover new ways to reach the unreachable and safely navigate perilous environments. Hit multiple crystals at once to combined their energies and find new creative ways to reach the end gate.

Gorgeous hand-drawn visuals and an elegantly orchestrated soundtrack - recorded by a live orchestra - immerse players in the Afterlife and bring dreams, nightmares and spirits alive in stunning detail.

I agree with the TSA website review where it says: Evergate has the potential to be an incredible game to play, with its beautiful artwork and animation, and intelligent and well-planned gameplay. Unfortunately, every level feels like a struggle, needing pinpoint precision to complete and move on to the next. It ends up a frustrating experience more than an enjoyable challenge. Good: The game runs on simple mechanisms, allowing for easy initial gameplay Artwork and score work wonderfully together Animation is seamless and creates a flow to the story Bad: Despite the simple mechanisms, the game is unnecessarily difficult Accuracy needed is impossibly frustrating Uninstalled it because it is not an enjoyable game to play.

I can't recommend it more to puzzle-platformer lovers. It's a free prologue of an indie game, its Visual Effects, Art, Music, and Narrative are apparently elegant and remind me of Ori(Of course this game is much smaller due to the difference in team scale). The gameplay is not complex, a one-screen platformer for each level, where Ki manages to reach the gate and collect items. The difficulty and fun are to find out one/several possible ways and test our thoughts with those interesting abilities(7 in all). It's challenging since we only have one shot for each level, but not that hard unless we wanna beat time. I just give up the time challenge after I finish the first level.
Just a demo, and is not the enjoyable game play. don't see the time, it just idling time.
I played the Switch version of the Full Game. This is just a preview of what the game has to offer, It's a mix of levels from the game. Basically, the easiesst stuff of a bunch of mechanics they think you may find interesting. There are way more mechanics in the actual game and it was lots of fun. It even has some bonus levels that you unlock by doing side quests(which you can see in this demo). You have to choose just one powerup, can't have multiple so that keeps the game from becoming too easy. I haven't beaten any of the bonus levels yet but I beat the rest of the game, and plan to return to it again some time. The full game has some cutscenes that are meant to be memories on display and they are sort of abstract, the various NPCs also have a lot to talk about when it comes to spirituality and philosophy.
Schönes Spiel aber Endgegner Teil 2 zu schwer zu schaffen bei aller Liebe
First Impression: The beautiful artwork and interesting premise encouraged me to give this demo a try. Gameplay: Understanding the controls is easy but I found it frustrating that perfect timing was required in order to avoid dying. I don't have a problem with a challenge/learning to become better but the game was too difficult to make it enjoyable. Story: You are supposed to help a lost soul named Ki to escape the afterlife and return home to earth. Music: The soundtrack was fantastic. TL;DR Review: A free demo game with beautiful artwork and fantastic music but the steep difficulty curve made it hard for me to enjoy it. Would I recommend this?: No. Computer Specs: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 Gaming Laptop 15.6" 24GB RAM 1TB SSD
Before I played Evergate: Ki's Awakening, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
