It's a 13 minute long mostly cinematic experience, with only a few VR interactions. It's a mish-mash of mediums, from 360 video to Unity Engine maps with 3d models to a combo of the both. It has audio narration and it mostly gets the job done. Obviously, it's more of a one-sided "educational presentation" about the religious persecution of the followers of Falun Gong, which is an anti-communist party sect that is pretty right-wing in its views. I don't know. I think it's a cult. While I don't think they should be jailed and should be free to practice their religion, I also think the practitioners are completely nuts. I know one thing, in the USA, these cult members don't pay taxes. So yeah 1st amendment is supposed to be about the state not establishing a religion, but they sure do establish lots of state benefits for them. They should all be taxed in my opinion. Also, all non-profits because they are mostly tax havens for the ultra rich. Rate 7/10. The documentary is well done for VR propaganda, but I just don't like crazy cult members.

Interesting. If you are willing to use your brain a little, you will find how absurd the data on this WEB (faluninfo.net) . Since 2000, the record of organ transplantation in China has not yet reached 200000 cases. Wherever you pass by, there must be traces. If this WEB data is true, it means that almost all transplanted organs from 2000 to 2010 came from Falun Gong believers. Or in another case, these tens of thousands of transplants are not included in official records. But it’s also unbelievable. Organ transplant surgery requires very high equipment, and qualified medical institutions and doctors are limited. The records and files of these hospitals and doctors are well documented. There will be no more than 100 hospitals and no more than 1,000 teams of surgeons (between 2000 and 2010). If there are 10,000 unrecorded transplant surgeries a year, each hospital will be responsible for 100 transplants a year, one every three days on average. Each team undertakes ten sessions per year, averaging once per month. There may be tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people with knowledge involved, and hundreds of thousands of device usage logs and medical logs must be modified. If one person knows it, it is a secret; if two people know it, it is a temporary secret. It is truly a miracle that one hundred thousand people know a secret that has been kept for ten years. In China, those with the power to approve tens of thousands of forced organ transplants do not need to do so. Because the law is a tool that serves the rule, they have more legal/grey channels to obtain organs - body donation, or surgery in countries that allow organ procurement. And those who need to do this do not have such power.
Not only the visual but structure, music, designation, quality are horrible. I’m disappointed to see the terrible and disgusting graphics. The BGMs are harsh and nauseating. The mechanism of this game is naive and boring, almost making me fall asleep. And the plot so fake that it is meaningless to know the real situation. Generally it is the worst game I’ve ever played.

"Eternal Spring VR" is not a game. Games require actual gamelike interaction and gameplay loops, which are missing from this "art experience". Rather than being a game, "Eternal Spring VR" is a software application that showcases a low-quality art exhibition. This Youtube video covers the unfortunate topic of religious and political prosecution in China, and while there's no doubt this is going on, the problem is not going to be fixed by polluting Steam with non-game political garbage where it's just going to be ignored by gamerbros. Political messaging is only useful if it's somewhere people will see it... this is not only a misguided waste of time from the filmmakers, but also harmful to Steam because it's just polluting the place. We see this non-game trash on Steam when film school dropouts are hungry for any kind of validation (and they don't get any from formal art circles), so they dump their short film on Steam since no one views their junk on Youtube. Steam used to have a video section, but it's deprecated and essentially shut down, so failed filmmakers just attempt to exploit the Steam games section instead. Why is this helpful for gamers? It isn't. For those unaware of what constitutes a game, a "game loop" refers to the interaction and feedback loops a user experiences when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no such game loop here, no real interactive feedback. It is simply not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software/non-game "art experiences" on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a non-game "art experience"/Youtube video being published in the wrong place. Uploading Youtube videos to the Steam Games section as if they are games is misleading to gamers and harmful, because it clutters the Steam store and steals visibility and traffic from real game developers who have done the right thing, and actually produced games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this rejected film school dropout exhibition, no "gameplay", no meaningful game like interaction. As such, this has no merit as a video game for gamers, and so I cannot recommend this non-game as a game to gamers. Whether we may or may not agree with the cause, it's my firm belief that politics of any kind has no place in gaming. It does no service to gamers at all for political or social agenda to be shoved down our throats, no matter which side is doing the shoving. We're here to have fun, not get indoctrinated. Because the primary purpose of this product is totally unrelated to gaming, this really just makes gaming worse, and does nothing to further the developers political crusade. This is one of those things that gives amateur developers such a bad name. Even as a free product, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of only 4 concurrent viewers, it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't give it away.
