Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 20.86/day in the week to Aug 11 → 25.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Esoteric Ebb is an isometric, Disco-like, TTRPG-turned-CRPG set in a bizarre post-Arcanepunk fantasy setting. You are The Cleric, an expert in esoteric events, and a glorified government goon. Inspired by classic CRPG games, Esoteric Ebb features deep and branching dialogs with a staggering amount of choices.
Create the world’s worst cleric. Take on the city through tense TTRPG dice rolls. Struggle to maintain control with your Stats chiming in at every moment. Let the voices guide you into insane encounters and hit that natural 20 right when you need it. Become the most interesting player at the table and completely ruin your DM’s day.
Five days until the first-ever election, a tea shop explodes in the heart of the city. They send you to deal with the mess.
You wake up in a morgue with half the river in your boots, surrounded by ten thousand rotting apples, several corpses, and one zombie. Out of your depth and with no official backup, you delve into your beloved city to investigate the impossible mystery no one wants you to solve. Juggle factions and play them against each other. Explore the streets and tunnels of a fantasy metropolis. Debate devils, drunk sphinxes, and all manner of fantastical fools in a world where mythological creatures sell newspapers at corner shops and ideologies overtake the ramblings of dead gods.

Don’t forget the most important question: What are you voting in the election?
MAKE CHOICES THAT WILL COME BACK TO BITE YOU. Shifting alliances! Risky dungeoneering! Complete open-ended quests, low and high-stakes alike, set in the streets, towers, and dark tunnels of Norvik. Become the city’s savior, its demise, or bumble your way into absolute power.
TRUST THE DICE. Let chance guide you! Roll to wrestle dwarves, steal anything in sight, or to keep yourself from looking like a complete fool. But remember, in true TTRPG fashion, failure can often be way more interesting.

IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD. Debate yourself! Each Ability Stat has a conflicting viewpoint and loves to interrupt important conversations. No matter whose side you fall on, you'll complete quests in wonderfully ridiculous ways.

WIELD REALITY-SHAPING MAGIC. Use The Cleric’s power for unique narrative choices. Control minds for fun and profit. Detect secrets in the tunnels below or in the thoughts of your enemies. Speak with anyone, living or dead, just to see how they insult you.

TURN-BASED ENCOUNTERS. Clerics in Norvik are taught to use violence as a last resort. When the need does arise, a roll of the dice determines life or death. But you always have a bizarre solution to any problem, don’t you?

THE QUESTING TREE. Your quest log, skill tree, and mind map all at once. Each Quest Branch can take root in your mind and alter The Cleric’s playstyle through game-changing feats.

Esoteric Ebb is among the greatest games I have ever played. I launched it not expecting anything more than a lighthearted RPG to pass time between my Baldur's Gate sessions with my friends and finished it with tears in my eyes. The game is gorgeous, the music is awesome, and I have honestly never felt so much emotionnal attachment to NPC's I understand the importance of democracy better now Go Snell !
Before playing Esoteric Ebb, I had a few playthroughs with Disco Elysium. Once I heard this game took ideas from Disco Elysium i was sold especially because of the fantasy aspect that comes with it. I enjoyed Disco Elysium a lot, the politics of the game were amazing, but to me it felt somewhat dry as a game perhaps because it was almost realistic. Esoteric Ebb gives an appeal other choices matters games such as Disco Elysium just do not have. The art is breathtakingly complex, while also being simple and visually appealing simultaneously. The characters are genuinely enjoyable to interact with, I cannot wait until i complete playthroughs with focuses on different proficiencies in order to complete interactions otherwise missed. The game mechanics themselves are executed perfectly in my opinion, it feels as though you're playing a game while also pulling you into the fictional world making you truly want to make the best choices for survival. The magic part of it is very interesting, and i believe its incorporated effectively so that with or without a focus in magic you can still have so much fun in a playthrough. The amount of layers in the game motivate you to go back and make choices you didn't in the last run, its truly an addictive game, and the replaying the game is just as fun as the other runs. As the game ends, it genuinely leaves you feeling empty, there's a void created that can only be filled by a dlc or continuation of the games story coming out, and I don't know many other games that have been able to do something like that. Something else i found this game has that many others don't is the world building. They truly go so in depth with it, and its fascinating how one can write down on a physical notepad the history of the world as well as its geography if they so please, and it actually having meaning for the story. The world building is brilliant and interactive, I'd love to travel even further Beyond, I'd love to see the 7 other bands, All the races and creatures maybe not included, etc. There's so much left to be desired in a good way, the ending is satisfactory, its a beautiful ending no matter the playthrough, but it leaves you wanting so much more its dumbfounding how a game has accomplished something like this. The game does have some things left out i would have loved to have seen, such as voice acting. Part of the reason Disco Elysium is appealing is because you get to hear the unique voices of characters, and the speech patterns they have. This game already does such a good job making you feel connected to your companions, I might actually want Snell to be my friend in real life if voice acting ever is worked on for this game. Another thing I noticed was the political ideologies being sort of stale. Only in the sense that the conversations you can have about ideologies are limited, leaving you wanting for more rigorous discourse, you know what I mean? And last but certainly not least, I hope this game will get a continuation or dlc of some sort in the future. I always enjoy playing, and the endings always have that same lingering affect on me, I cannot imagine how I'd feel if there was more after the ending, especially since there is so much left to do even after. I would pay any amount of money, I'd wait any amount of time, I'd stop playing every other game I own if necessary; just please Mr. Bodegård, please consider making more of this game. Its a beautiful story, visually astonishing, emotionally inflammatory, and so much more. I feel attached to the game, and I'm in love with the effort and thought put into it. I look foward to any news about this game, and i hope that anyone who has played this and is reading this or is thinking of playing it and reading this can understand the things i say. Honestly and whole heartedly, I am confident in calling this game my favorite, please consider adding more, hopefully someone who has influence sees this. Sincerely, your God-Wizard-King.
Amazing game!
It maybe easy but it's telling
A tedious experience clicking through all the dialogue. Beautiful art design though.
Game of the year ( so far ) A truly beautiful and unique experience that I enjoyed ، Thank you to everyone who created this masterpiece.
Insanely good!
Good story and characters. Mostly reading and not much fighting. I didn't mind that since I enjoy the plot more than combat. DnD based but the world building itself had its own twist to it. Would Recommend 9/10
