This game is hilarious and quirky, I love it! I can't get enough of the sounds they make 🤣 I used a keyboard which is a bit tricky, would recommend a controller!
Esophaguys is a puzzle platformer with a quirky, fun style and a truly novel mechanic. Your old-timer character moves around by biting things and then extending or contracting their neck to have their body arrive at their destination. The graphics are cute, bright and curly. Everything pops out, everything stands out and all the... uh... special creatures look like they belong to this world. The longer I play, the more I feel like I'm being drawn into someone else's geriatric trip. It is obvious a lot of thought and care went into world-building. There are giant mushrooms, giant pink trees to bite onto and giant snakes that... eat balls to open... throat doors. ***stares confusedly at notes*** The sound design and soundtrack really stand out in my opinion. It appears that all the effects such as footsteps and heaving and grunting are made by a totally normal human. The music is played with a pleasant acoustic guitar, banjo and the skillful twang of a Jew's harp, the most mainstream instrument imaginable. One hears a lot of familiar folk melodies, something that can really be appreciated. Clearly lots of love was shown to the auditory experience. The strength of the game lies in combining its story, style, navigation mechanic and great sound design into a truly amusing experience. The controls, even on a keyboard, feel intuitive and didn't take long to learn - the gold standard for platformers. There is a lot to explore and every level so far has some interesting quirk or puzzle that plays to the main mechanics. I haven't run into any bugs or issues yet, and have yet to try out multiplayer. 10/10. Would definitely stick it in my pipe and smoke it again.
Fun game! Well polished!
Weird, quirky, and totally nonsensical, it dives into surrealism and emerges a totally unique experience. It posses a charm like no other and I doubted I would ever enjoy a game in which senior citizens frolic with extendable necks and a care free demeanor comparable to their real world counterparts. It manages to build on an already pleasurable time if you rope a friend or two in to play with, or just to throw off the map if you so please. If you are on the fence at all I suggest you it try, It's most certainly a game I would recommend and not forget.
I remember playing multiplayer co-op with all my friends many moons ago and this game hits a wave of nostalgia. It's a great game for solo adventures as well as getting enthralled by the sound track. The smooth controls allow the player to move easily throughout the levels while being able to traverse differently each time. Can't wait for more!
I recommend this game it is fun to play alone or with your friends in co-op the movement is fun and I like the variety of unique cosmetics.
The story is really fun and the grabbing and swinging mechanics feel really fun. So far my favorite parts of the game are the Masochist mode and the PVP mini game. Also the soundtrack, especially on the last level is really great. Strongly recommend
Esophaguys is a really fun, quirky, and enjoyable game! I went in not knowing much about this game, and came out thoroughly enjoyed! I loved the main mechanic of long necks and using them to navigate around this strange world. The physics felt pretty good being able to fling yourself around once you got the hang of it. The music was strange, but good, and fit the theme very well in my opinion. I will probably end up playing again to try out the co-op in the future!
I came. We stretched. I came. 10/10 would doing, boing, and elongate again.
Really great time, gets all my friends laughing together as soon as they hold the controller. The controls take a second to get used to but feel natural once you're going. Should note it only works with remote play but I haven't come into an issues with that. Grab some buddies and give it a go
