From the devs of Down the Rabbit Hole comes another diorama puzzle game in the same style. This one is quite a bit longer where the first game only took about 2.5 hours to 100% complete, this one took almost 9 hours. It also reverses the rabbit hole motif where, in the first game, each level was under the previous level so you descended, descended, descended and could look up to see your entire journey. This time each level is above the previous level so you are ascending and can look down to see your entire journey. This ascending motif is allegorical to the story's plot but I won't spoil anything here. As for the game's design and mechanics, everything is fantastic. There is a lot of dialog, all fully voiced, the aesthetics are all great (though the texture resolution could be a bit higher), the puzzles are on the easy side but they're still fun and engaging with each level having it's own themes and mechanics. The only real complaint I have is that there are some critical bugs that caused me to have to reload the game multiple times. Notably, the segment where you have to assemble an ID has multiple issues: I often couldn't pick up the scissors, I often couldn't cut the photos, I couldn't put the photo on the ID, if the scissors dropped on the floor, they would just disappear and never respawn, etc. These bugs were annoying but at least you can reload the game and try again. Nothing was ever so bad that I had to start over. I also had an issue where the A button would just stop working altogether. This happened like 3 or 4 times and I had to reboot the game to fix it. Overall, though, the game is pretty well made and fun so I would recommend it if you're looking for a diorama puzzle game.
Wonderful story. Really enjoyed my play through. Fun little puzzles!
Wonderful game! Everything is top-notch. Great voice acting, artwork and story. The puzzles are fun to figure out but not terribly challenging. I love the music. It's the best part I think. It creates the atmosphere perfectly. I loved playing with the tape deck/music machine. That little jingle just makes me so happy. You can tell this was made by people who love making games. There's fun little Easter eggs like employee pets and other gags to find. I already played this on Meta so I breezed through it here. I wanted to support them so that maybe they can make more! Please do.
Really good story, puzzles are easy to medium, but still interesting. There were some non-game-breaking bugs, like new room not coming out of fog or actions not triggering, but all those worked in few tries. There is 1 collectable that I would recommend changing some thing about it:
In mouse kitchen there is picture piece in oven - if player doesn't pick it up before solving all obstacles (thus permanently closing oven), it should fall to ground as oven closes permanently. Right now workaround is to clip into oven and touch that piece that way.
Anyway, would've liked for game to be longer, but it's still very good: 8/10
A absolutely great puzzle game . Good story and voice acting and music . My favorite part is as you go through the levels you see the previous levels below you . It’s a very cool and unique game play idea .
One of the best game I've ever played!
This and the previous game (can be played in any order) are absolute must-plays for any VR player. Interesting puzzles, gorgeous dioramas and lots of cute interactions.
A creative step up from the first game
