I am currently a female college student majoring in computer science. I saw this game and immediately downloaded it, and then played the full thing! Only took me about an hour to complete (mainly because one of the puzzle parts I didn't read all the directions, so I got confused and had to keep redoing it). I love this game and hope you make more games like this one! Do I recommend this game: Yes I really recommend this game to any age range or skill set!! I hope you all have as much fun playing this game as me!
ERROR: Human Not Found, a decent free adventure game. I liked it, and if you enjoy sci-fi and dont mind playing a free indie point and click adventure you should try it.

First off, this is a free(!) adventure game. This is not meant as an early excuse, but it should be kept in perspective when playing the game and/or writing a review. It took me 5 hours to complete the game and I enjoyed it. Why? - it becomes clear that the game designers put their heartblood into this game and that they have a message - the background story is catchy and thought-proving - the in-play story (even if it is not the most original) is nice - the different characters are very nicely developed and their "interactions" (the in-game ones and the ones you read about in the journal) are very interesting - 9 different background music tracks (more than you find in many commercial games) [** SPOILER - Start **] - it is a game with 2 hidden purposes: 1) when you read through all content (incl. the database entries on the main menu) you can't avoid learning about the history of computers, the same is applicable to the puzzles 2) it is a game which advocates the creation of Artificial Intelligence and Androids (while still giving hints why having them could result in serious problems) [** SPOILER - End **] Suggestions for the game developers: (I am pretty sure that you have a ton of stuff which you would have liked to put into this game on your own, but couldn't find the time. But anyways, here are my thoughts) - as a Software developer, I know what the puzzles are all about and where they are relevant in computer design/programming. This is not the case for players with a different background. Why not provide more information how the essence of the puzzles are connected to the IT world? - (I assume there are multiple endings for the game) What about sharing with the player how many there are, to motivate him/her to replay the game? - Puzzles "Logic gate": 1) Provide a mouseover hint for the tiles you can place (="AND", "XOR",...). It gets confusing 2) Show how many tiles of each type are available - Database articles: Make the Background info URL's clickable or at least easy to copy so that an interested player can use them without having to write them down - maybe I missed it, but it would make the game interesting if there are some decisions which would lead to an early end of the game (either due to the death of the character, or a punishment, being put into jail,....)
A Marvelous Experience
This interactive visual novel is nothing short of amazing. The story is compelling and the result, while it can be deduced, is a great one. Each character (including AI's) are well thought out each having a unique personality and story. The puzzles are spaced evenly throughout the story and fit well in the narrative. While I have not tried different verbal answers, I believe there are also multiple types of endings- that partially reveal what type of person you are/can be. After completing the game all puzzles and music tracks are easily accessible, a great feature to have. While I would be hesitant in creating another game with Grace as the protagonist, there are a lot of possibilities for further stories in this universe. Because of this great experience, I look forward to playing more games from these creators.
EDIT: Not sure what to think of it nowadays, but will leave review as-is as sorta there. Ah, a visual novel with a bit of clicking and some oh dear binary puzzles. Or logic gates. Not a lot but enough. I actually had to write few things down on paper to solve three of them, mostly due to my no that great memory, which I approve. The only bad thing I would say is that you have to go to main menu in order to view database that contains information on real life things characters and AIs were based off. Oh, and there is art. While I respect them for not just going with anime style, this realisticish-cartoonish amateurish art kinda looks ugly. Uncanny valley, a bit? You do get used. I mean, at least it's not another anime style. There were few typoes too, mistakes. In this game that takes 100 or so years from now you research the death of the first AI to be put into physical body (android) with your illegal investigation along with a second AI. The theme of a game is relationship of human with AI in a future where AI would actually mean intellegence. Searching the folders has revealed that there are three splash screens with different names for the 5th chapter, so I take it that you get three endings depending on your choices. Mostly whether you are AI-phile or AI-phobe or something inbetween. Personally, I ended up getting what I belive to be a middle ending. It didn't feel satisficating but still cute. Ending didn't fit my view on AI exactly. And two loose ends were left. But eh, not going to replay, not having all time in the world. In all honesty, I don't think that it's all that good take on AI. For example, it's hinted that they might be better at running goverment. Better than having few ministers agruing with each other and never getting anything done. But the thing, the reason why said ministers agrue is due to having a different view on what is more important in life. And while game paints AI there to be obsessed with effectiveness, somebody has to set them up like that, they don't seem to truly know the point of life. And since we don't know the point of life of human beings, said human beings would agrue how to set up AI instead and thus instead of "AI able to decide what is best of humanity" we will have "1000 mministers agruing forever on what "best of humanity" set for AI". And personally I've already decided on what things are most impotant in human life and think that I am right, but since my brain is fine and I have no damage in my ability to emphasise and set myself in place of others, I shall say, yea, there are few ways to decide on what is more important. Efficiency can't answer whether economics or safety is more important for humanity. Efficiency of what? Er, I think I just wrote some BS. Or something clever. Can't decide. I don't believe in AI yet. The current science of AI doesn't set "true intellegence" as main objective, instead it's about "teaching computer how to do what it can't do yet". That's an actual quote of older scientist. Not 1:1 quote however. But maybe it will become real in 100 years when the game takes place and I am the one who is stupid for being pessimistic. I am not going to live so long so it's not like I have to think too hard about it. So I don't think that it's all that smart regarding AI, but eh, will do for a novel.

Finished this game in two hours. For me, that's something that is a bit of a record. Finishing a game, that is. You can actually ask my friends, and they will tell you that I really don't ever finish games. Anyhow... the plot was fairly interesting. It was almost something you'd read in an Isaac Asimov book. An AI has been murdered, and you've decided to investigate. An official team is on its way, but you're going to see if you can figure it out before they get there. Of course... you've been told not to. The characters were alright in their own ways. The protagonist is a tad sassy. The AIs you meet certainly have their own personalities as well. Not all of them are overly friendly. Though... you could also argue not all humans are overly friendly either. Something this game does take into account quite a bit. While it could be said that this is a decision based game, I don't think anything that you really do has an effect on the game itself. Please play it, and correct me if I'm wrong. While you're out doing the investigation, a few minigames are played. These include playing memory with binary and numbers (Shudders), some form of logical pathways that I somehow found myself completing on the first try, and another logical puzzle that took me a bit (I will admit that I made life harder on myself by not reading what everything did, and then solved the puzzles with a much simpler mental explanation after doing a bit of experimentation), and some form of input output puzzle to guess passwords. The minigames did make sense in context, however, so no complaints there. My biggest complaint, though was the sheer difficulty of the binary puzzles. It's not enough that I don't know binary like the back of my hand (you'll have to play the game to understand that one), but to expect me to figure out what the binary equivalent to the numbers 1-19 (I think) is, and then have to find it... I am amazed I even managed to get through that without rage quitting. Overall, though, I will say that this is a pretty well made game that could make you think if you weren't accustomed to that sort of idea. I won't go into any real details, but this is my analysis. I'd give it a solid 7/10. -3 for the binary puzzles :P
