Do you like old school Zelda games and do you like hentai? Well, Erinye is the game for you! Naturally, this game being a demo and all, no actual hentai is shown. You only have a place holder for it. Plus, Steam wouldn't allow it anyway. Which is fine, because patches easily gets around it. Now lets talk about the game itself. It's really good to be honest. It takes alot from old Zelda games like exploring dungeons, puzzle solving, upgrading health and magic, and figuring out how a boss fights. Along with some RPG elements thrown in the mix like finding new weapons and armor that can have their own pros and cons. Story wise, it doesn't take itself seriously and even pokes fun at itself and at cliche fantasy tropes like "the chosen hero". I love humor, so Erinye as made me chuckle at one thing or another. Don't expect this to be an easy game either. I've had my fair share of deaths from things I should've known better to things that were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and start all the way back to my last save. Sorry, no checkpoints in this game, at least, not in the demo. One thing to note, I did not play using the keyboard. I had my xbox one controller pluged in and had to figure out the button layout on my own. So here it is: Left stick = Movement RB = Attack LB = Use Equipment X = Interact/Select B = Menu/Back If different controllers changes the layout then sorry I don't know them. Overall, it's a very solid game that feels like the developer focused on gameplay first then added hentai second. I hate it when developers focus on hentai first then gameplay second. It's always horrible and there's too many games just like it floating around in and out of Steam. I say give the demo a try. What have you got to lose?

Update January 2025 Dev apparently did a Patreon-only game demo update (apparently "90% done") back in August 2022 but nobody knew about it until he finally admitted it on the Steam forums for this game. Even his Patrons missed the update; dev is just that bad at basic communication. Posting anything to Steam as a news post to let people know? Of course not! He is 'not obligated' to post anything that isn't behind a paywall, doncha know! But of course the dev has all the time in the world to respond on the Steam forums yet not enough time to make a simple text-only update to let any followers on Steam know the game is still being worked on (Seven Years Late but still something I suppose). Having screen-shared with one of their Patrons, I confirmed that the game files contain
lolicon
artwork that the developer denies is as such despite overwhelming evidence otherwise. You can be the judge by joining their Patreon for $1 USD if you wanna see for yourself. I figured this PSA was important enough that I should put it here loud and clear for everyone to see. Art is art, but I feel that people should be mindful of what they are getting before purchase if/when the game ever finally releases. Though of course if you can't wait the Patreon has a nearly-complete demo build minus the final area/ending and some bits here and there. The forums have some posts by the dev that should be even more interesting while waiting on the game. Best of luck and enjoy with plenty of popcorn! :) -----OLD Stuff Below----- Update Sept 2021 These words say it best. Not written by me but absolutely applicable here.
Original article is linked here. It’s even easier to lose all your money when you are being funded by people who have no idea of the sheer difficulties involved in the scope of what is being promised but really want what sounds like a nice idea, and all they have to do is toss down another $50 to see this come to fruition under your banner. That’s not just lying; that’s downright predatory. And it often involves ending up with no game to show for it, to the point where I can think of a good half-dozen (games) that promised the stars and delivered nothing at all. We’re not even getting into the games that delivered a fraction of what they promised, here. Again, the specter of ego rears its head here. Rather than admitting that your goals are far too ambitious for the team and budget you have or that you might have overpromised, you’re lying on the basis of either genuinely believing that things will eventually work… or you’re lying on the basis that you know this will never work, but you want to get paid before it all collapses. So either you’re a fool or you’re a grifter, and in both cases you have more ego and ambition than sense. That’s not a good look.
Original Review below Game has been "in development" since March 2018. This playable demo is all that has happened in that period of time. The rest has been Patreon-exclusive lewd art and that's about it. Developer falsely claimed a 'Patreon exclusive' demo update (not even a substantial update at that) which caused an actual Patron of theirs to join the thread and refute said claim outright. At best it is an 'Action Adventure' clone with some lewd elements. At worst it is a janky half-baked idea that has sat in perpetual limbo since 2018 with more than SIX YEARS that have passed without any public updates. This is a game with early potential that should've been done by now, but is stuck in perpetual development hell by an adult-sized toddler who hides under the skirts of Valve and still claims to be 'working on it'. Sure, I've heard that line before. It seems that sitting around drawing lewd art pays the bills, but claiming to be 'working on' a game that has had zero updates since the demo was released (SIX YEARS!) is quite unbelievable. SFW Alternatives: Anodyne, Hob, Hyper Light Drifter, or legit any action-adventure game. Lots of retro options like the Secret of Mana remake on Steam. NSFW Alternatives: I'm sure you can do a quick search, but GameVolt and other sites outside of Steam are great for those. Steam did change their mind on certain content but that decision came too late for many devs who just went off-site instead. There are better games than this that are actually completed. Go play them. Skip this nonsense. I wonder how many years have to go by before the dev has to take responsibility for not finishing things. I'll be happy to make a public apology to the developer for hounding them if they actually finish and release this as promised to their (many) Patrons and donors.
Plays like a rough Zelda game. With a little polish, redefining the player's hitbox and diagonal movement, the play control issues will likely evaporate. Otherwise an interesting take on the top-down adventure genre. The good: - The artwork - The characters - The beginnings of the story - The area mapping - The custom menus - The custom HP / MP bars - The custom ammo systems for secondary items - FINALLY another Zelda-style game where you can buy equipment! - A self-aware silent protagonist The bad: - The play controls. 4-directional movement is more of an issue when it comes to action-oriented gameplay; there are scripts for most RPG Maker engines that allow for 8-directional movement. - The music (some of it). A fair amount of the music is stock music from the RPG Maker libraries. Play this game, and look forward to the full thing once it becomes a reality. I know I will be.

Can't wait for the official release, though it's been a long wait so far unfortunately.
Interesting demo. It plays like Legend of Zelda: Link to a Past, but has an overworld and has a more mature story. This game is being made by the same person who made ShyChess, which is a chess-puzzle game set in the same world as this game. This dev is a 1-man team too, I believe, so I find both of these games very impressive. They're making the full game of this demo all by themselves, I believe. Yeah, the edgy sex stuff and whatnot aside. That's not the fun of this game. I never completed Link to a Past but it was a fun game to play. Solid controls, balanced around understanding your enemies, and just pure fun. This game has identical gameplay but it's really fun. It plays a lot faster - faster movement and attack - and figuring out each enemy was a lot of fun. Some highlights are the Child Killer boss and the batgirl. I didn't beat the Child Killer without getting the whip first because it's a really difficult boss and the whip's range makes it a lot worse, so I got the 'bad ending' for that part I think, and I didn't get to claim I beat it with a sword, but it's a fun boss. The golem fight in close quarters was a bit cheap, but it's an alright enemy to fight too. The story is a bit cliché but, I mean, making a really unique story these days is difficult. Long story short, you're a chosen one of some kind and that's all you'll get from me. You start off going into town and are jumped by some Shy Girls, one of which steals your bike after you thrash them like the goons they are. There's a lot of humour in this game and naturally it depends on your style. I feel like the intent is that this game doesn't take itself *too* seriously, which is a good thing with the vibe I'm getting from dialogues. The artwork is amazing. Say what you want about what it's being used to show off, but it looks great. Again, I believe this is a 1-man team, so it's even more impressive if that's true. I'm going to wait for the full game when it comes out. I'm currently stuck at the ruins area after beating everything else, so I can say that currently the game feels a bit tough and directionless in some areas, but I guess exploration is an important thing in these kinds of games, so what can I say really. This game already looks good enough to wait around for though and I'd suggest others give this bite-size demo a try too.
Until its released and fixed i wouldnt recommend it....only if you dont take pleasure in randomly dying on a boss that takes forever to kill - otherwise the game looks greeat, but the CHild eater boss needs a fix, until then i uninstall the demo and will avoid playing if it releases till someone checks if the boss isnt such a ♥♥♥♥♥ to kill as it is now...
game's never gonna come out, is it
Meh, if you like LoZ style games you'll probably like this. The game is abandonware so you have nothing to lose from trying at the least.
