Epic Dumpster Bear: Dumpster Fire Redux

Despite the look of the game, it actually has a lots to offer. Hard but unknown gold time, secrets route to unluck extra level, a hearth system where you can buy one more hearth if you fail a level. The movement are pretty good, the wall jump is a bit janky at time but overall, id say its on par with the early mario game. The few cons would be that the level design is unoriginal, and that some obstacle insta kill and since the level are long its frustrating to restart them with no checkpoint or collectable saved. But otherwise, its a pretty good game.

This game is a combination of Super Mario Bros 3 + Super Meat Boy, but it has bears (frankly, those games wish they were as cool as this one). Jokes aside, it's a really fun game, with surprisingly good (but challenging) platforming, amazing music and good story. A few things I found questionable (hitboxes of certain enemies in particular), but in general it's a cool platformer. I recommend it to anyone who likes platformers, bears and / or both. Alors oui, c'est tres moche. Mais sorti de ça, c'est plutot un bon jeu pour le prix. Niveau jouabilité, on est quelque part entre Mario et Sonic : l'inertie joue un gros role mais on peut sprinter comme dans mario au lieu d'avoir a prendre de l'élan pendant trois plombes. La bande son est correcte, ma Dualshock 4 a été reconnue sans faire d'histoire, bref malgré un gros manque d'options in-game (il faut pour ça passer par le menu de Unity en maintenant Shift au démarrage), ça se joue sans probleme. Bon, c'est pas Celeste ou Sonic Mania non plus mais ça vaut quand meme ses cinq euros.

What results is something that looks like trash up until the moment it’s held to the light, revealing craftsmanship. More importantly, Epic Dumpster Bear just plays damn well. It’s a very Nintendo-like platformer in structure, with hidden coins in each level and secret exits galore. The focus seems to be on momentum which I suspect would lend itself well to speedrunning. You can grind on rails to gain speed but have to watch out for places where a quick change of direction is necessary or else you’ll lose your momentum. The controls themselves are tight yet simple with a run button and a jump button. Your bear can accelerate quickly but doesn’t reach top speed without downramps or the aforementioned rails. While the humor employed is sharp, the punchlines begin to lose their luster after seeing them enough times, causing the bland assets to wear after a while. Thankfully the tight controls and fun platforming will keep you engaged, making Epic Dumpster Bear is an easy recommend.

Awesome platforming and an engaging story. All jokes aside, the game is very well done.

This game was surprisingly fun and I really enjoyed the absurd yet realistic story of it.
