Eos is a first-person, 3D puzzle game in which you take control of a little girl who ventures into a tower. Confronted with a voice who seems to know an awful lot about her, he puts forth a series of trials to teach her about the past she never knew.

Petit puzzlegame à la 1ère personne façon Portal/The Talos Principle, assez simple & assez rapide à faire.

Puzzles were pretty straightforward and mainly there just for pacing the story dialogues. About a 15 min game. Very shaky view/objects that kinda distract from the simple beauty of the world. The sound design was notably good, with passable voice acting. I can appreciate what they tried to do with the story, but found it questionable. Probably would recommend if not for the performance issues.
Night n Day. Story: You play as Eos. You travel to the island where your mother used to live tasked with granting her final wish, rest her medallion on the island, but once you step on the island you find yourself followed by a voice that knows quite a lot about you. Since the game is barely ten minutes long, that's all I'll really say about the story. It's a decent enough story and has a quite nice set up and conclusion. It's not original by any means, but it works well enough to set up the journey you'll have on the island. Graphics: Now I haven't mentioned this before, but this whole game is a student project, so it's very simplistic in it's design in pretty much every category. Visually it looks pretty nice, the colors are vibrant and the night and day contrast although very simple does look pretty good. Although there are issues with the visuals. There's tons of texture popping and often then not the bricks on the ground will flicker which makes it hard to look at from time to time. Also whenever you look up at the sky you can see borders which makes it seem like you're in a giant cube. Audio: Since this is a student project I can't really say I expected good voice acting, but it could have been way worse. I've played many paid games with acting way worse than this, but what I will say is that the audio quality is horrible. The actress of Eos very clearly used different microphones to record her lines. Some sound crystal clear, some sound like she recorded them through a wall using her phone. I'm pretty certain the music is royalty free, but it's pretty nice for background noise. It's not really intrusive and has a calm and relaxing tone to match it's visuals. There are issues with the music cutting out from time to time, but it's not that big of an issue, cause it loops back from the start if it cuts out. Gameplay: Eos is a very simplistic puzzle game where the main gimmick of the game is that you use a night and day cycle to finish puzzles, but calling them puzzles is a very generous way of describing it. You basically walk through portals, where one time of day unlocks a door which has an item you need and then you flip to deliver that item to the place that needs it. There will be no brain scratching here. It's all very straight forward, but it's actually quite fun. I could totally see myself playing a fully fleshed out version of this type of puzzle game with more complex puzzles, but what's here won't take you longer than 10 minutes to finish all of it. Verdict: Eos is a great little prototype for an adventure game. Since this is a student project there's definitely a few issues, but as far it goes, there's worse ways to spend 10 minutes and since this is a free game I can definitely recommend this for a nice little game. Final Rating: 7.5/10 Pros: + The gameplay gimmick is pretty cool + Visually very pleasing + Decent music Cons: - Frequent texture issues - Audio quality is pretty bad - Puzzles are way too easy If you liked this review please consider joining https://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog and https://steamcommunity.com/groups/ImperialReviews
it runs like crap for me

Pretty good 10 minute long simple puzzle adventure. Feels more like a demo or a prologue but it's free so you can't complain. Just the voice "actor" for the protagonist isn't very good, but she also barely talks. The other main voice actor does a good job tho.
It is a super short game. Mine lasted 15 and should have been 10 because I had to text few messages to some friends and time ticked. Developers forgot the box shaders they built the environment in so if you look into the sky especially in the night you can easily see them. Voice acting is cringy. Sound design not bad and so does the environment design. I believe it is inspired by Ancient Rome/Greece. Nothing fancy at all but 100%d my clock speeds on my RTX 3080 for MS 3D paint graphics so optimization is poor I guess. Also, it is a bad portal copy with extremely easy kindergarden level puzzles. I wish they at least tried to change the box colors and material design on it but nope they just erased "Aperture Science" logo on it and slapped into the game. Overall though, worth to play for a 10 minutes student project game. I don't expect much from DigiPen and this is better than their usuals.
