A text adventure golf game, well, sort of. The game consists of a series of prompts, selecting your club, and then your power. After every hit, you're treated to a screen with a message criticising the sport of golf due to its various specific negative effects on the welfare of the local fauna. That's the whole game. It's hard to say what exactly this game is trying to accomplish. It certainly can't be a text adventure, because there is no adventure to be had. The environmentalist message is negated by the store description of the game, so it can't be in support of that. It can't be a sardonic criticism of preachy games, because there's no hint of self-awareness. What is there to be had here? Nothing, really. It sets out to do several things and does none of them well. You can see the entire game in the Steam screenshots, so give it a miss.
The putting animation is wrong. The distances are measured in an obsolete pre-revolutionary measurement of distance. The game wants me to feel sorry for destructive exotic species like deer. It does not bother to mention that British invaders brought golf and deer to my country. Far more native forest is destroy by deer than by golf. It talks about "your country club", but the golf course on Woi Wurrung land is owned by the people. The picturing of the snake looks cartoonishly silly.

If you think this is a retro golf game, its not, it literally just says how golf is killing environment, like...I don't really care ngl, please don't waste your time with this game.
Have you ever wanted to play a "video game" that feels like a PETA propaganda flashgame that you can download for free here on Steam and waste 15 minutes of your life? Well this game has you covered. This "game" fails in almost every aspect to deliver an "environmentally conscious message" by treating the player like they're a piece of ♥♥♥♥ with condescending and overly blown out of proportion messages that have no emotional impact whatsoever and just feel like the devs are trying to push an agenda on top of it being just mash a # key and wait for the ball to fly barely anywhere like half of the time. There are so many better ways you can deliver an eco-friendly message but this sure isn't one of them, in fact this is a textbook example on how to make people want nothing to do with your cause. Heck, Final Fantasy 7 did a better job then this game ever will. I would rather be beaten over the head with a Driver then to waste anymore time playing this awful excuse of a text-adventure game. If you want to play something actually good and worth your time that is golf related, go buy Golf with Friends. It's 10x more fun and you won't have any need to go outside to play golf. Or if you don't want to play golf, maybe check out South Park: The Stick of Truth or its sequel if you're a fan of the show and remember a little ZZDummy.dat file from the PS1 days. In simple terms, don't waste your time with this "game" and its poorly conceived attempt at a message. Go play something else.
all i got from this was that owls, squirrels, snakes deer and native americans are all a bunch of whiny ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
This game has an important message about how the upper class wrecks the environment. Golf is a blight on the planet. Whatever happened to rich people playing croquet? Croquet doesn't require so much intense lawn care and damage to ecosystems.
As it turns out, landscaped golf courses are not great for the world. Could have done with offiicial stats. Worth a 10 minute playtrhough. Conclusion: Let's keep golf, but make it a net benefit. Unlandscaped golf with seed bombs?
still more fun than real golf
>HEY JOEY! >what? >WANNA MAKE A TEXT-BASED GOLF GAME? >hmmm, that sounds like a good idea! >BUT WHAT IF, AND HEAR ME OUT, INSTEAD OF MAKING IT AN ACTUAL TEXT-BASED GOLF GAME, WE SHOEHORNED IN SOME ♥♥♥♥♥♥ MESSAGE ABOUT THE DAMAGES OF GOLF COURSES TO THE ENVIROMENT >hmmmm >that sounds LIKE AN AMAZING IDEA, LET'S DO IT!!!!!!!!! (poggies) and so, this abomination was born.
A game that teaches you that snakes are the same thing as Native Americans, might play again
