Enigmatis 2: The Mist of Ravenwood was released in 2013. Viewing the store page, I think it seems pretty obvious how popular this game was based on its Overwhelming Positive rating in reviews. It could easily be deduced that this game, among the few, racked up gametime and was bought by players. Introduction tries to be scary and ominous, which for seasoned players, may not be as scary anymore. But that does not negate the build up done for this story: a detective in search of a demonic preacher, unveiling the secrets in the Ravenwood Park that felt ominously suspicious. That alone is still considered a great build up for the story, with its prime intent of being mysterious. Inside the game, the characters has 3D models. Not much to say about that one. You could lock your inventory or not, according to your choice. Fast travel via map is also allowed, but the map in this game simplify the areas so one place will be in one section of the map. This may become confusing to other casual players as it's more than helpful if the map made it per area and not per section. There's no indicator for collectibles and some are actually pretty hard to spot. In fact, I missed one in my first playthrough, but it wasn't much of an issue to me. There is also a section in the game where one character tells the backstory of the owner of the Ravenwood Park, and then the plot twist that comes after it. I will not say much and will omit a lot of the details but it was sure still a shock to me as to how the twist was unveiled. When this aforementioned character explains the story, you can go back to the dialogues as there is a screen of selection to it. It's nice of them to provide the ability to the user as there was really a lot of dialogues from the backstory told. I enjoyed the 4 hours I had with this game, 3 hours for the main game and another hour for the detailed extra story. I believe this game would garner a 7.5/10 for my personal scale and a sure recommend. Ominous, mysterious, and a classic game installment for the series. Can't wait to play the third game after I post this review.
Recommend: buy at heavy discount due to hours of gameplay, good story-based HOG The second series of Enigmatis is much better than the first including a more complex story, several unexpected twists to the story, and a map where you can jump from place to place,. The evidence gathering and HOS are very similar to the first, but feel much more connected to the game. The placement and repetition of HOS felt more story based so I wasn't having to look at the map to know where to go next. The artwork, music and background remain beautiful and eerie. The illusive objects were fun to spot and cleverly done, fitting with the the theme of a park with illusions. The ethereal butterflies were just white butterflies. I collected them all for the achievement, but I didn't feel they fit with the story. All that being said, the hours of game play compared to other games don't justify its non discounted price. I played twice several years apart and got 15 hours of game play and I like to take my time rather than rush around.

Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood, developed and published by Artifex Mundi, is a polished hidden object adventure that leans confidently into its genre conventions while refining many of the elements introduced in its predecessor. Set within the eerie confines of Ravenwood Park, the game continues the story of a determined detective pursuing a mysterious preacher, blending investigative storytelling with supernatural undertones. It’s a sequel that doesn’t attempt to reinvent its formula but instead focuses on delivering a smoother, more cohesive experience. The gameplay follows a familiar structure built around exploration, item collection, and puzzle-solving. Players navigate through a series of interconnected locations, searching for clues and objects that unlock new paths forward. Hidden object scenes play a central role, requiring players to locate specific items within densely detailed environments, while additional puzzles introduce variations such as pattern recognition, mechanical manipulation, and logic-based challenges. The overall design is intuitive, rarely leaving the player unsure of what to do next, and a helpful hint system ensures that progress remains steady even when solutions are not immediately obvious. One of the more engaging aspects of the game is how it integrates its narrative into the gameplay. The inclusion of an evidence board allows players to piece together clues and draw conclusions, reinforcing the feeling of being an active investigator rather than simply solving isolated puzzles. This mechanic adds a layer of involvement that elevates the experience beyond standard hidden object gameplay, tying progression more closely to the unfolding story. The mystery itself is structured in a way that gradually reveals new information, maintaining curiosity without overwhelming the player with exposition. The story leans heavily into a mix of detective fiction and supernatural intrigue. Ravenwood Park serves as an effective setting, presenting a deceptively serene environment that hides darker secrets beneath the surface. As the narrative unfolds, elements of folklore, ritual, and unexplained phenomena begin to emerge, creating a sense of tension that persists throughout the experience. While the plot follows a relatively predictable arc, it is delivered with enough atmosphere and pacing to remain engaging. Visually, the game is one of the stronger entries in its genre. The environments are richly illustrated, with hand-painted backgrounds that are filled with detail and subtle animation. Each location feels distinct, contributing to a cohesive world that invites exploration. The art style strikes a balance between realism and stylization, allowing the game to maintain a slightly eerie tone without becoming overly dark or oppressive. Combined with a fitting musical score, the presentation helps sustain the game’s mood from beginning to end. The pacing is carefully managed, alternating between exploration, puzzle-solving, and story progression in a way that keeps the experience moving forward. The game is not particularly long, but it avoids feeling rushed by maintaining a consistent flow. Even so, some players may find that it concludes just as its narrative begins to fully develop, leaving a desire for a more extended resolution. The inclusion of a bonus chapter adds a bit more content, though it doesn’t entirely eliminate this sense of brevity. There are a few areas where the game shows its limitations. The voice acting can be uneven, occasionally detracting from otherwise strong moments in the story. Some puzzles, while generally accessible, may lack originality, especially for players familiar with other titles in the genre. Additionally, the overall structure remains very traditional, which means it may not offer much in the way of surprise or innovation. Despite these minor shortcomings, Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood succeeds in delivering a well-crafted and engaging hidden object adventure. It combines accessible gameplay, a compelling if familiar narrative, and strong visual design into a cohesive experience that is easy to enjoy. While it may not push the boundaries of the genre, it demonstrates a clear understanding of what makes these games appealing and executes those elements with confidence. In the end, Enigmatis 2 stands as a solid continuation of its series, offering a satisfying blend of mystery and puzzle-solving that will appeal to fans of story-driven adventures. It may not be groundbreaking, but it is consistently enjoyable and polished, making it a worthwhile experience for those looking for a relaxed yet engaging journey. Rating: 9/10
This was a really good game I will definitely be recommending this game to others
I remember playing this game years ago on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (this was like 2015 ish) it's a super fun game for people who like point and click games with all the stuff! Id even say they're on par with most of the Mystery Case Files (MCF BIG FISH) games! I do think Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek feels WAY better pacing wise and is also slightly longer, but this game is GREAT!!
Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood is one of the best Hidden Object Games I have experienced. It’s a great step up from the first game, with nicer visuals and a more polished feel overall. The puzzles are clever and satisfying. The story is good but sometimes a little bit difficult to follow. Highly recommended.
