In this game, you have to match electronic parts to a preset circuit diagram in a set amount of time. There's two major issues with the game right now: 1. The basic premise barely qualifies as a game. If you've memorized which parts correspond to which symbols in the circuit diagram, the only skill involved is placing the parts quickly enough before the timer runs out. 2. The tutorialization is lacking. In the first level, there are some arrows that identify which parts correspond to which symbols in the circuit diagram, and it's fairly easy to follow (although they don't explain why the circuit works, what the parts or symbols are called, etc). After that first level, you have to simply guess how the remaining parts and symbols match up, and you get one shot. If you flip the "On" switch to try your circuit, and you're wrong, then you have to restart the level. This could be a fun sandbox game for teaching how circuits work and building different types of circuits, or maybe a puzzle game where you have to figure out what's wrong with an existing circuit, but I can't recommend the game in its current state.
The name of the game is missed opportunity. It IS a game where you build a circuit out of parts according to the circuit drawing. It could have been the best choice for worldwide education of electronics. Just two things seperate the two. Firstly, it doesn't explain, what your circuit does, or why it fails to do that. This would make Electroquest an educational game. Secondly, it NEEDS workshop support to sustain longevity. Workshop support also would engage all the hobby electricians and fill it up with circuits that can be copied IRL. With these changes, I would say it is a 10-15$ educational (and fun!) game that every school would like to buy a licence for. Right now it is a "match symbol with part" game that is worth its 4$ at most. Follow my curator at https://store.steampowered.com/curator/28337205-Fair-Minded-Witness/

4/10 ENG: I wanted to put the game a positive review. Still, it could be good for educational function. We have the elements, position them on the scheme and see what happens. However, when I reached level 21, I couldn't get through it in any way, most likely because of the bug. I, as a conscientious user, reported this in the subject, but the developers apparently decided to ignore my message. In this regard, here is your finger down. In general, the minuses: - a small amount of all sorts of things - too easy. Tips are not removed. We stupidly put the elements where it's necessary. - lack of free mode. 4/10
-This brainteaser is a good opportunity to check your knowledge of electrical engineering and improve your logical thinking. that part is already not truth, its just a match game, you have the parts on the right and if you click them, you see the symbol and where it needs to be placed.the last part of this games description seems to fit quite well. Its pretty much a memory game. -Test your engineering skills and try to put all the elements of an electric circuit in the right places. It is really sad how this game is made, theres no way to test the circuits through try and error, its not even fun at all and you can not even create your own circuits. there are only premade "puzzles" that you can solve by placing the blocks in place within a set amount of time. Theres no knowledge to gain in this game as it doesnt offer the possibility to try and analyse whatever you want. Its not about engineering skills, its about how fast you can move your mouse and remember the symbols. Theres not even a good amount of parts that you can use like diodes, different volt batteries and alike. You even pretty much always add the circuit board that appearantly is used to create sounds but it doesnt really do anything, theres no explaination about why you need it at all as it doesnt seem to do anything in most circuits you rebuild in this game. i am sorry, but this game has missed a great opportunity
What you do in this game: Drag and drop components where you are told to put them. I was expecting a puzzle game where build and test circuits to solve a problem. Instead the goal is just to drop the correct component at the correct position as fast as possible. The variation between the levels are minimal and it is possible to finish the whole thing in about 10 minutes.
So I´m writing a positive review for this game to support the creators. Knowing some game devs by myself I was told that it´s very "devastating" for a seller if you have some negative reviews so I want to give this a chance since I assume after feedback the game - once you´ve bought it - is going to improove from it´s current state. I can confirm many of the parts that the person in the other review (well this review is the 2nd about this game) wrote. It´s basically a puzzle game (which is very easy so there is no real "riddle" to be solved) where you have a circuit on one side and some parts on the other side. All you have to do is put the parts from the parts side to the circuit / schematic. Then you can test the circuit and see it working - it´s animated. That means for example you can see a LED light up or a motor makes a motor sound and you can see the "wheel" that´s mounted on the motor spinning. I am not sure in what direction the devs want to head at this certain state of the game. Make it an electronic puzzle game... ok why not... but they kinda claim you learn about basic electric circuits in this game (at least I think they claim about that as I read the game description) but actually you don´t really learn much - apart from learning what schematic picture belongs to what "real life" part. After you´ve completed your experiments you can test them and for example use a magnet (can be "held" on the circuit) to trigger a reed relay or later you probably can use a flashligt to trigger a photo resistor. This also could be called learning - but what they should have done is give a BASIC and short explanation about what you´ve built and how and why current is flowing to get the LED light up. Thats why I gave it a positive review. As it is now... you can check it out but do not expect much from it... but assuming they still fix things here and there... it´s a nice puzzle game with "you learn some stuff about electricity on a VERY basic level there". Oh and I could write more details about the electrical stuff because due to my apprenticeship in electronics / electronics hobby I really know that stuff but I don´t want to go to deep into detail. Not all things are ... "good" from a scienthific viewpoint but for very very basic electrics teaching this game has potential.
