Eleanor's Handmaid is an AVN that focuses heavily on wholesome lesbian action in a similar way to the developers other games. The art is exactly as usual and in general has a very distinct look for the developer. There are a bunch of sex scenes, but they arent animated, they do however have sex sfx. The game also has a good amount of choices that will impact what scenes and which of the seven endings you will get giving this a high replayability. Coming back to the lewd content, this is definitely focused on the wholesome side more than anything and there is a lot of kissing going on (I know extremely lewd). The story on its own though is quite simple and is just a slice of life into the MC and her first sexual experiences with her maids. Additionaly you should be aware that the MC can magically grow a penis so there isnt only typical lesbian sex. Contentwise you will get around three hours for your first playthrough and overall with all the others a few hours more. Overall, a simple, wholesome and lighthearted AVN that focuses on sex between cute girls. If that is something you enjoy then give it a try. [h2]In short - it is amazing, any yuri lover or unique world setting seeker will greatly enjoy this piece of art. Albeit, I think Succubus Research Diary is pinnacle of Arcus Plume works.[/h2] Some might say that there is more sex than visual novel, yet for me all the lewd action is just a suggestion to get into more private topics to discuss. But [i]even[/i] for me it maybe just too much erotic action. I mean, Succubus Research Diary was clearly 80% erotic time, but on the 100% it was about what is so good about Kuroha's novels: the profound setting and delightful writing. However this title is more in a form of Lily's Handmaid, because more significant focus is dedicated to character dynamic. But I think these characters are clearly much weaker compared to the setting and lore foundation of this universe. For me Helen falls a little too much under type of your horny mommy and Julie under Lady of The House. But other characters clearly have some unique design, they feel Arcus Plumey. Sofia is straight up wild and on par with me on her straightforwardness. And Eleanor is sometimes unhinged in her innocence, which I also like. Often they do act a little lightweight, but this is only to mix up things, as generally all characters are considerably smart (and smartass), with their unique thoughts (even if many of these thoughts are about sex), which we can dive thanks to temporary detours to view of another girl. So the witty aspect of dialogues is certainly here, and to my delight every one once in a while someone will certainly say something that will be wild or unparalleled in its originality or sharpness. However... nobility? Heir? Family? Skirts? I thought that was a common aspect for Japanese things, while in European novels it is exceedingly rare. Maybe this is result of having harem relationships or some world specific influence, but I don't think such archaic phenomena is really fits into that sort of progressive and painfully sharp-minded written setting. But wait, that is not all-so-long novel. Is it wise to dedicate so much time for character relationships when it may be better to give it to lore and discussion of politics, sociology and science? Succubus Research Diary was like frozen in time. All what happened between Serena and Nerisha was in a moment. You could truly relax and just enjoy the [b]sex[/b], while in mid-time learn about the universe. Don't get me wrong, the lore got its deserved expansion, but with 2 characters it had all the room to be discussed, to be [i]researched[/i], but now instead of diary you have complicated book of relationships and love hexagons and regular polyhedras, exhausted from stretching between myriad of options. [spoiler]Honestly all routes except Sofia feel... offside. Like, come on. With all that "heir" and "family" stuff I would instantly grab Helen, Sofia and Laura, all at once, and there I have my concubine harem. Why I cannot take more girls and as such more sex, when it is right here? The final day is called "The Faithful "Choice"", why in quotation marks? Do you want me to not choose between evils like Geralt?[/spoiler] <The last paragraph is random words, as there should be my opinion on endings when I will finish the novel on 100%, so don't take this rumbling seriously...> [h3]This game made me ♥♥♥ 10 times in 5 minutes[/h3] Actually, quite the opposite, sex in this game feels like inevitable, it has the passion behind it, but for my taste it lacks rawness and carnal desires behind them. Everything feels like we are all Laura - sex is good, but that is not something you crave for. It is as good as hugging or kissing. The sexual acts itself are mostly [b]novel-like[/b] all the details are described with a words, even if quite masterful ones. However the [b]visual[/b] part is only one maybe 2 CGs, and not from the most hot angles. This is matter of taste, and language can be very stimulating, but I think it is a crime not to use that wonderful rendering engine to produce some close-ups of intimate parts during acts. "Less narrating, more sex." The futa controversy, or maybe Drama I should call it. Well, first and foremost, this is [i]futayuri[/i], which has all the qualities of your standard yuri, just [i]tools[/i] used in the [i]process[/i] are different. And what baffles people that despite it still being a yuri, this is not exactly sex between two girls. That [b]itch[/b] on the back of your horny mind for some proper lesbian intercourse is untouched. That [b]natural instinct[/b] to lick and kiss the [i]flower garden[/i] is unsatisfied. That estrogen hit will never come. And the futa, as a matter of fact, has a very negative connotation, so despite being good kind of futa, it still may be repulsive to many if not the most. If were are talking about futa it should hit you like 438868, maybe a little with 317871, or even 460972. On a bright side is graphics, or dear goddess. I am not sure what undisclosed graphic solution Kuroha is using, but I am sure it can be sold to any anime studio for a blank check. Cel-shading, but smooth. What is good about this 3d is that proportion of bodies are always perfect regardless of position... Sprites are crisp and I would say quite truly are an eye candy. Regardless audio, I do not play novels with music at all. But however, music in this novel is quite fitting and sometimes even outstanding, some compositions are indeed beautiful. That is a first time in a while when I decided it will better go with music. Yet what I do adore is ambience. And in Eleanor's Handmaid there is just no ambient sounds. Yes, there are special effects for certain actions and sex has great variety of appropriate sounds. However there is nothing as simple as birds chirping in the morning or water gurgling in the quarry, or heavy breathing during sex, to enhance the experience and accompany brilliant graphics. Honestly I am being too critical of this visual novel. It is delightful and undoubtedly one of my favourites. But in my humble lesbian opinion the execution in terms of story and theme does greatly limits the potential of all the work done on world-building, lore and setting. And, I am not finished reading it... actually. So this essay will get longer as I'll do so.

"Eleanor's Handmaid" was a mix of good and sweet moments, though sometimes feeling dull and drawn-out to me. The adult interactions are sometimes tender and cute, but never particularly explicit and even a bit repetitive. Additionally, there's a lot of background lore that, in my opinion, wasn't essential for the plot's function which slowed the pacing. I confess to having skipped over some of it, hoping to interact more with the characters instead and get to know them better. When doing so, however, the game becomes rather short and might feel even shorter due to the limited number of choices. Even so, it was a pleasant enough read and certainly doesn’t deserve a negative review. If the art style appeals to you, and you like women who can summon something extra between their legs when the situation calls for it, this might be right down your alley. (5/10)

This was a very enjoyable visual novel. The plot knows exactly why we're here, and it delivers. Each love interest has her own defined personality, and the side characters feel distinct. As you might expect, considering the type of game this one is, everyone is horny AF; sometimes a little too much, but it never becomes a problem, at least for me. Between context clues in the narration and dialogue, plus the encyclopedia (Makai Wiki) articles, the world presented seems lived-in. I'd like to learn more, and I asume the other games from this developer will expand on those details that are hinted at here. I'm visually impaired, so I can't really comment on how good the art is, though the anime art style is a big plus, since it is easier for me to see than all the 3D-rendered visual novels that have become prominent on recent years. Speaking of, since this game was made with the Ren'Py engine, various accessibility options are available. I personally use the self-voicing feature to read aloud text. The game had a few bugs related to self-voicing, but the developer fixed them very quickly after I reported them. It's brilliant to see developers who care about accessibility issues! My only complaint, and it is a very minor one... is that I would have loved more Laura!! Please, Laura, step on me!! Anyway... Eleanor's Handmaid is a good visual novel. It is exactly what it says it will be, and that's all that I want from my games.
