Edgar's Room has great sound design which makes it stand out from other games of this genre. Every puzzle is well crafted and fun to play. The game also has a high degree of replay-ability and speed runners would love to play both modes (normal and brutal mode) to go for the world record. I recommend players who like puzzle horror games to give this game a go and complete it. Make sure you don't turn on the lights when Edgar is in the same room as you!
This is a great game just like all of Lewis's games. It's got the perfect timed scares and the perfect atmosphere to go with them. The puzzles are also all interesting and differ from each other. The devs have done a fantastic job when it comes to the sound design and thats exactly what the game needed to succeed. Now it's time for the lists! Pros: + Great scares + Nice graphics + Creepy enough monster, he is a lot scarier when chasing you + Good interesting puzzles that aren't too hard to figure out + sound design is fantastic + random starting point and puzzles every game Cons: - I'm normally good with morse code but the only reason why I solved it was due to me knowing how many letters there were, I couldn't understand the actually letter from the sound, maybe it needs to be slower - Some doors didn't open properly and I was forced back into the room to redo the "edgar check" - the light should be pushed back because if it gets too close to an object like a table or wall you will lose the light Full Playthrough: https://youtu.be/46YDFmTx2uk Steam Curator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/10995314-Szamer%2527s-Collection/
Played for nearly 30 mins and my heart was racing for most of those, yet it still leaves me wanting to play more and finish it. The puzzles are challenging but not frustratingly possible and the relationship with the sound and lighting of the environment leave you tense and immersed. Absolutely loving it good job to the team! xx
Edgar's Room creates an atmospheric environment through great sound design and asset design alone. For someone who can't stand horror titles such as myself, I still felt myself wanting to go in and play it more despite my heart rate going through the roof. The puzzles were extremely inciting and well designed, most of which reward players for replaying and learning each room as the do. Overall it is definitely recommended for players who like Puzzle or Horror games, doesn't even need to be both. Just be careful, Edgar hears you and he's coming.
Firstly, thanks to the dev's for sending me this copy you guys are awesome! I love how this game is so randomized and some of the puzzles are very satisfying, perfectly optimized and the scares are well timed. Sometimes when you turn on a light & he is in the room (which results in death) he does not kill you right away so the anticipation is real :) loved this one. https://youtu.be/oFrSC4C5ap8
Die randomly after following the game's instructions from the monster invading your hud. Solve obtuse puzzles like tv remote, that's the hint, oh you found it, now what? nothing, you reset, cause you can't use it or put it anywhere.
Edgar's Room is a brain teasingly intense ride, with great sound design, a unique premise, and interesting puzzles. The core gameplay loop of moving from room to room in search of puzzles to solve is incredibly solid, and breaking up those moments between puzzles with an "almost minigame" of listening closely so as not to alert the enemy was a great move. There are a good deal of moving parts here, as well as a fair bit of replayability. I found a lot of enjoyment learning how to play as I was playing, and some of the puzzles provided a nice challenge. I highly recommend this game if you enjoy puzzle filled horror games and want to get your heart racing a bit. Good fun!
Meh
声音的判定太严格了,我听着像是呢喃声音的声音你跟我说那不是呢喃声叫个鬼过来打死我 呢喃声不就是有人说话又JB听不清楚的声音么?里面那么多呢喃声凭什么不算!!
What a great game! The atmosphere gives you the creeps. It may take a few tries to get used to the puzzles and rooms. You're most likely going to lose on the first or even multiple attempts. I like the gameplay style. You start in a random room and maybe even a puzzle. Each puzzle is unique and I like that. They have updated the game from my feedback. Their game updates are also quick. It's a good horror game!
