The Short of it: The game is worth buying, even at full price. Pros: *Great art design and direction *Large variety of H-scenes and content *Vast majority of H-scenes and content are replayable and does NOT require fail state to view Spicy content (important for certain achievements) *Solid/Serviceable story *Engaging characters *Interesting world interactivity *Diverse endings Cons: *Lots of possible bugs that can interfere or terminate some quests or achievements (recommend making lots of separate save files just in case) *Some areas and scenes are noticeably lower quality than rest of the game, easy to see rushed worked. *Some quests and/or achievements are easy to miss or have extremely esoteric requirements to progress (recommend keeping separate save files and looking at guides to help with some quests' progression if confused or stuck) *Good character interactions and moment but not enough character development (Not that important, especially with H-games but does a lot to help narrative feel more engaging, mostly just personal taste this criticism) Game creator has a Patreon and currently working on DLC for the game, I highly recommend supporting this creator, if disposable income is available. https://patreon.com/Taizei?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=creatorshare_fan&utm_content=join_link Sorry for formatting issues, I'm still new to using Steam's text formatting. The Long of it: This is an amazing game and well worth your time and money. I would highly recommend this game and would buy it again for full price. It is easy to see that this game was a labor of love and dedication. I have personally play multiple playthroughs of this games and at the time of writing this review have almost 100% the game (more about that later). I came into the game skeptical and hesitant but was pleasantly surprised but it's quality. I was expecting a cheap and casual turn-based RPG with a naughty twist, something akin to old New Grounds flash RPGs. However the story was had more depth, the characters were unexpectedly well-rounded, and the world, while still exaggerated, felt like a lived in world. Now this still is a H-game so there are areas where this game fall incredibly short of its full potential but in a good way. The highest praise that I can offer this game with all it's shortcomings is that I was always left wanting more out of it. Pros: *Art design and direction. From the character designs to world building this game does a lot with what it has. Not all of it stellar or amazing work but it never drops below a serviceable level. *H-Scenes are plenty and varied. The obvious one in the room to talk about is what most people come here for. I'm please to report that there is a plethora of Spicy content available in here. Most importantly, for me, the vast majority, if not all, of the spicy does NOT require a fail state to view. (Personal pet peeve of mine when these H-games require the players to waste time and fail to see all of the Spicy content). *The story is the main highlight and i think it will be the same for many players. It's so easy for many of these H-games to simply put together a half baked story that is build upon contrivances upon contrivances upon more contrivances. While this game isn't entirely exempt from that formula it does a much better job about establishing context and characters that are enjoyable to watch interact and root for. *World interactivity is something that all good RPG should be based on. Making players feel like that are impacting the world around them is a keystone aspect of any game that offers players freedom of choice. Echoes of The Town does this well. While I wish we were able to interact with the world as a whole more often the affects of the player's actions are far more visible in the lives of the characters that inhabit the titular town. *Again the biggest compliment that I can pay this game is that even with all of it's flaws and unrealized potential, I always wanted more of this game for better or worse. Cons: *To get straight to it, this game is prone to bugging out, unfortunately. Nothing that having a separate back-up files won't resolve or fix but it is still rather annoying. I full understand that this is a indie-developed game but still. Throughout my multiple playthroughs I have ran into at least one bug in each, most are fixable, obnoxious, fixable. At the time of writing this review I am only missing one achievement on the game, but the boss fight required for the achievement is bugged out across multiple saves and playthroughs. Again, my advice would be to frequently make new save files in case a quest or achievement (if you care) bugs out on you. *Certain quest and achievements have particular requirements that are time sensitive and it can be extremely hard to know exactly when and where to be to trigger a quest or achievement progression. My first couple of playthroughs I was utterly lost on some quests' progression and resorted to guides, that informed me that I had missed the time sensitive progression points and had to revert to old saves. *This game came off early access and received serval updates and hotfixes over the lifetime. With those it was easy to see some of the updates and they are of a significant higher quality. While I am grateful for these FREE changes, it does tend to put the rest of the game in sharp contrast, especially when it comes to the H-scenes. Now there's nothing from stopping the creators from going back and updating all of the older content but at the time of writing this review there are some very noticeable differences. *Last Con is really just a personal preference of mine and most probably won't care about this, but my review, so I get to shout from my soap box for a little bit. *****Warning very very very mild spoilers***** This games has interesting characters, character set-ups, character dialog and character interactions, however it's woefully lacking in character development. The players will get to see these characters talk about themselves but never get to know the characters. While there is some story explanation for the protagonist, Akemi's seemingly blank slate of a character, at least from my understanding of the story it doesn't explain all of it. I wish this game explored more about who this characters are rather than just what they do in a given situation. I understand most who will play this game won't care about this sort of thing, but it's these narrative elements that give players a reason to remember their time with a game. As mention above, at the time of writing this review that Developer of the game has released an early build of the planned DLC for this game on their Patreon. https://patreon.com/Taizei?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=creatorshare_fan&utm_content=join_link I would highly recommend supporting them, if you have the means to do so. They are clearly talented and are highly vested in the quality of their work. Thanks for taking the time to read through all of my insane ramblings. I love you all and may you all stay blessed.
I'm very glad i found this games its so intreating and there is a lot to do.
Can't let the homies ♥♥♥♥ rocks
RPG maker. it's pretty good
Very good game, the art is quite good. The story is quite entertaining, especially for an H game, it left me wanting more. it has a good combat system and the H scenes are well done.
