Echo of Extinction

It's honestly pretty good, i'm only writing this because after 3 weeks the game has got no traction at all and i'm blaming the fact Steam is saturated in actual junk that superficially looks similar to this at a glance. i have only played 3 hours at the moment, I beat 1/6 of the robot lords and only have the first 2 party members. I did a "water dungeon" where you go around looking for codes to open doors to progress, but a surprising bit of extra design, a pair of shoes I found in the outside world let me walk in deep water, so it gave me an optional bonus to take shortcuts and find extra items in the water dungeon, but you don't need those boots to complete it and get to the robot lord. The 2 party members I have so far have genuinely different battle uses and while i havn't seen a whole lot of the dialogue they have distinct personalities that clearly had some effort put in to give them some character. Power progression is a combination of traditional EXP level ups and a tiered crafting system where you keep upgrading your existing gear. There might be more to the game mechanics, but first impressions are solid and it's feels kinda tragic this is being ignored. For £6 it's really very good and has a solid chunk of playtime if the 6 robot lord dungeons are about equal to each other.

As a fan of JRPGs, I enjoy this game quite a bit. The graphics are not bad, the music is decent and the turn based combat reminds me of oldschool JRPGs. I also find the idea of having to craft everything from scratch like weapons, armor, characters, etc. interesting. Since it fits the setting of post apocalypse world where there wouldn't be any merchants From what little I have played so far, I'm finding the setting and characters interesting, and the gameplay nostalgic. It's worth a try!
