enjoyed very much, only downside is loot is random and not balanced, meaning there is no way to get better loot unless farming same maps. at one point regular mobs became bullet sponges
I only have 10 hours total in this game, but I love it. I played the Demo a while ago before release and couldn't wait for launch. The game is a third person shooter and exploration rpg. The fact that this was made by one guy allows me to excuse the sometimes cheesy dialogue and voice acting due to the sheer size and effort he's put in to enemy and boss creation. Mixed with the fact that there is a little bit of depth to some boss fights. Some involving stealth, some with lasers you need to line up, etc. And gun types actually do matter. A plasma may help you more than a standard dark pistol. I'm currently at an area now where I think I'm going to regret scrapping all my silencer guns. Oh, and make sure you are looking up if you find yourself stuck in an area, or just for the ships that fly by that you can shoot down for scrap. I hope there's more content, but if not I'm still completely satisfied with where it's at. Incredible work, thank you for this game!
A really fun dungeon crawling first person action-RPG in a spooky/mysterious atmosphere. If you've liked any WRF games in the past, this one is almost certainly going to be to your liking as well. The loot game is well-done, the graphics are atmospheric, upgrading your character shows clear improvements and the randomization elements remind me somewhat of Risk Of Rain (with more linearity). My biggest complaints would be: - Enemy projectiles have way too large collision boxes, sometimes you see projectiles not even remotely close to you but still damage you. To be fair, the same is true for your own projectiles - almost everything seems to have twice as large collision boxes as it should have. As a result of this, normally moving out of the way of a projectile is futile, only dashing will work. - It's not too clear what the effects of some skills are. Some kind of tooltip would help. - Quite often, enemy animations do not really match stuff like projectiles coming out, hitting you, etc. Forgivable for a one man team, but still improvable.
Kind of like remnant but different bcos it's a dungeon crawler. Nep nep nep
If you're a fan of action games set in the sci-fi genre, you should definitely check out Earth's Shadow. It's a dungeon crawler game that takes you on a journey to a remote planet filled with legends of valuable relics. You'll have to fight your way through challenging enemies and explore the mysterious world to uncover these treasures. One of the best things about this game is the immersive atmosphere and top-notch graphics. The visuals are simply stunning, and the world design is captivating, making you feel like you're truly exploring an alien planet. The background music is also amazing, fitting perfectly with the gameplay and adding to the overall experience. Another great feature of Earth's Shadow is the depth and customization options. You can choose from a wide variety of weapons, skills, upgrades, enemies, bosses, dungeons, and puzzles, allowing you to play the game your way. The game also has a lot of humor and personality, making it more enjoyable and unique. The combat in Earth's Shadow is fast-paced and satisfying, and the enemies are challenging and diverse, keeping you on your toes as you explore the world. The voice acting is also very good, adding another layer of immersion to the game. Overall, Earth's Shadow is a hidden gem that deserves more attention. It's a well-made game with a lot of content and replay value, and you can easily spend hours playing it without getting bored. If you're looking for a sci-fi action game with a lot of depth and personality, Earth's Shadow is definitely worth checking out.
Simple but good looter shooter with fun gameplay and adjustable difficulty.
BUY THIS GAME! If the video or the screen shots look remotely interesting to you, if you like 3rd person looter shooters with melee and a cool dash move, if you like supporting independent developers with creative visions, if you like content that would be 4x the price from a bigger studio with darn near if not the same level of quality, (this is better in many cases), if you love eerie dark alien atmosphere dripping with mystery and danger, then you should consider yourself lucky to have discovered this hidden gem before it's cult is firmly established. If you were hoping for something great when you tried Immortal UnChained and were sorely disappointed, this might be the game you are looking for. If I had to make a gripe, it would be the lack of a lock on system. There is a scanning system, so maybe later on the scan also provides a target lock on with an upgrade... That would be cool. Or maybe it's there and I'm just too stoned and too much of a Gen Xer to find it...
Earth's Shadow is a good game. Not just a good game for a single developer; just a good game. Like all WRF games it's a bit rough around the edges but also like his games, it delivers fun gameplay that stems from a unique vision and pushes at the edges of what other developers have done but in a way that only WRF would do. I love his games. I find the same ambition and joy and craftsmanship in his games that I do in game from Spiderweb Software and Soldak Entertainment. There's just an honest desire to create games that bear the artist's signature that you can't get from big studio games. For the price you get a heck of a bargain with this sci-fi horror ARPG experience. Heck, try the demo but give it a solid hour to see some of the unique ideas really start to shine through. I hope you enjoy the game.
