Nice casual gameplay. Shoot zombies and avoid crashing into stuff (and barrels zombies throw). Music, backgrounds and physics makes the game enjoyable.
A genuinely delightful game. However, I, a scholar and gaming connoisseur, would not recommend this game to the average run-of-the-mill plebeians. Be that as it may, another zombie shooter game was the last thing that one such as I expected to be utterly appreciative of. This is not for everyone, but for someone, very good.
Very good game. I've played first 11 levels with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed it so much!
Bref j'approuve.
Clever and fun concept. Many hours of entertainment for a small fee.
Dustoff Z is a side-scrolling helicopter action game that leans heavily into arcade sensibilities, blending classic shoot-’em-up structure with a light survival theme set during a zombie apocalypse. Developed by Invictus Games Ltd. and published by Zordix Publishing alongside Green Man Gaming Publishing, the game immediately establishes itself as a fast, accessible experience built around momentum, mission variety, and constant pressure. Rather than striving for realism or simulation depth, it focuses on delivering quick, repeatable missions where piloting skill, resource management, and firepower all collide in hectic airborne combat. The core gameplay loop revolves around piloting combat helicopters across horizontally scrolling levels while completing a wide range of objectives. These tasks include rescuing stranded survivors, escorting convoys, defending fixed positions, transporting cargo, and eliminating massive zombie hordes or mutated boss creatures. Each mission forces players to juggle multiple concerns at once: staying airborne, avoiding environmental hazards, managing fuel consumption, and keeping an eye on ammunition and hull integrity. The helicopter controls are intentionally simple, allowing players to focus on positioning and timing rather than complex flight mechanics, which keeps the action brisk and approachable even for those unfamiliar with vehicle-based shooters. Progression in Dustoff Z is driven by a satisfying upgrade and customization system. Completing missions earns resources that can be invested into improving helicopter performance, such as increasing armor, fuel capacity, maneuverability, or ammunition reserves. Players can also recruit and upgrade gunners, each bringing different weapon types and firing behaviors that meaningfully affect combat encounters. Over time, these upgrades shift the feel of the game from scrappy survival to empowered dominance, as helicopters evolve into heavily armed machines capable of carving through waves of undead with increasing efficiency. This sense of growth helps offset the game’s arcade repetition, giving players a tangible reward for perseverance. Mission design is varied enough to keep the experience engaging over its runtime. Some missions emphasize careful flying and precision, particularly when rescuing survivors or protecting fragile objectives, while others fully embrace chaos, throwing overwhelming numbers of zombies at the player in sprawling combat scenarios. Boss encounters punctuate the campaign with larger-than-life threats that demand sustained fire and smart movement, breaking up the regular mission flow. Additional modes, such as survival-focused challenges, encourage replayability by pushing players to optimize their builds and performance for higher scores and efficiency. Visually, Dustoff Z adopts a stylized, blocky aesthetic that prioritizes readability over realism. Zombies, environments, and explosions are easy to distinguish at a glance, which is crucial given the speed of the action and the number of threats on screen. While the art style may feel simplistic or dated to some, it complements the game’s arcade roots and helps keep performance smooth during intense encounters. The audio design reinforces this tone with energetic music and punchy sound effects that emphasize impact and urgency, giving each mission a sense of forward drive even when objectives repeat. That said, the game’s strengths also define its limitations. Because the core mechanics remain consistent throughout, repetition can set in during longer sessions, especially for players attempting to fully complete or perfect every mission. The simplified controls and systems, while accessible, may feel shallow to those seeking deeper flight mechanics or more nuanced combat systems. Narrative elements exist mostly as background flavor rather than a driving force, leaving the focus squarely on gameplay rather than emotional or story-driven engagement. Ultimately, Dustoff Z succeeds as a focused, arcade-style action game that knows its audience and delivers exactly what it promises. It offers satisfying helicopter combat, steady progression, and a steady stream of varied missions wrapped in a playful zombie apocalypse theme. While it may not offer long-term depth or narrative ambition, it excels as a pick-up-and-play experience that rewards skill, upgrades, and persistence. For players who enjoy old-school action shooters, vehicle combat, and straightforward mission-based gameplay, Dustoff Z delivers an entertaining and consistently engaging ride through undead-filled skies. Rating: 7/10
A fun little game with short levels and an amazing soundtrack! There is a learning curve given the console port to PC, but once one gets the hang of the unusual controls, it's pretty much point and shoot in the literal sense. Levels are short and perfect for gamers in hiatus like me :)
Great way to kill time, straightforward progression path and some of the extra ways to kill those pesky Zombies are pretty damm funny
I actually liked it more than I thought. Love the graphic style, music is great and easy to pick up. It's such a simple game really, you get a helicopter, you kill zombies, and you can goof around with the winch. All and all, great casual game to pick up and play when you just wanna play something.
