About

Overview: 1945—Hitler won the war by splicing animal DNA with human DNA: The Binary Super Soldier (half man, half german shepherd). They tore through the world's warriors like presents on Christmas morning. But, The Führer didn't stop there. He continued experimenting and created The Binary Elite. You are the chosen one, the very first Binary Elite Super Soldier, designed to usher his reign to the end of time. But will you? HELL no. In campaign mode "The Awakening" you'll learn who you are and what The Führer has planned for you. You'll fight your way through obstacles and plenty of Binary Super Soldiers. As you fight your way to freedom, you will learn of the other 3 Binary Elite: Grizz (The Bear), Carol ("The Stork"), and Hanz ("The Shepherd"). In DEFIANCE MODE, which is an infinite-round horde survivor game mode, you can choose to play as any of the 4 Binary Elite (Harey, Carol, Grizz, or Hanz). Each character has their own unique abilities, weapons, and special ability. You can also play DEFIANCE MODE with up to 3 friends, each choosing your own character.
Design: Camp Z is an alternate history, WWII, 2D side scrolling strategic shooter. The design of the levels and characters is a unique collage style art that is paired with a simple user-interface and bold typography. You will have two primary weapons, a melee, and a special. When playing on a controller (X-Box recommended) the controls will feel comfortable for those used to playing FPS games. The game features a custom soundtrack that was designed for the rooms and story themes of THE AWAKENING. It also pairs with the escalating intensity of DEFIANCE MODE and changes tracks as you progress higher and higher in rounds, the most difficult rounds feature the main theme song.
Fun Facts:
Camp Z: The Awakening was created by 2 people with help from 1 amazing music composer.
DEFIANCE MODE: "Infinity!!!" There is no end to DEFIANCE MODE. Play for bragging rights by reaching the highest round in the shortest amount of time as you strive to dominate the leaderboard.
The first version of the main theme song was created by the founder at 2ish AM after playing “Papers Please” for hours.
Camp Z is a WWII alternate-history, 2D side scrolling, strategic shooter. It is a work of fiction made in the context of reality, intended to honor those who fought for the freedom of the world. In no way is it intended to glorify evil, but to honor the perpetual fight against it. I intend to carry forward the memory of my grandfathers, who both fought in WWII, and to honor all those who fought and fight for goodness to prevail.
Please spread the word about Camp Z. My intent is to continue building this world and story. In Camp Z The Awakening, you will learn about the world of CAMP Z and begin your fight against tyranny. It is your training. Train well.

*1945. Hitler has won the war using the DNA of beasts and man to make Binary Super Soldiers. You have become one of Hitler's latest projects. But does that mean you're going to fight for them. Hell no. Pick up the gun, soldier. It's time to raise some hell.* Camp Z: The Awakening is a 2D side scrolling shooter in where Hitler has won the war during an alt history period by mixing the DNA of man and beast. The game has two modes to it: The campaign called The Awakening and an infinite wave based mode were you go through all the floors of the Binary Super Soldier facility for infinity. In the campaign, you are Harey, an American soldier who was taken in by the Third Reich to be used for the Binary Elite Super Soldier program. You awaken in a cage and get to read about your new body and abilities, where it seems you were spliced with an Eastern European hare. A scientist comes to check on you after you grab your trusty bat and now you have to raise Hell just to get out. The wave based mode, Defiance Mode, sees you select from the four different Binary Elites who each have different survival stats and different gear. Harey, Grizz, Carol and Hanz, each has their strengths and weaknesses. The goal is simple: Kill as many Nazis as you can, get to around round 20, meet with someone called Das Clicka who will send you forward into a point of time where you keep the loop going. Every five rounds you gain an upgrade perk and every ten rounds you get a rev kit giving you a life back. Upgrades range from Gun damage to jump height, your special ability charging faster to you having more health, your melee weapon getting stronger to your weapons having more ammo. Pros: - An amazing setting in an alt history 1945 with little nods towards real life equivalent animals who were used during World War 2. - Hand crafted models and animations - A wondrous story where you'll be able to fight against many varying Nazi furs and humans. Cons: - Sounds are just a bit clunky, with hit registration being a tiny bit glitchy - Enemy models sometimes clip through the floor, come back to life or even turn invisible - Currently, you aim with both thumbsticks but the developer, Game Master, has said they will be adding in an option to lock your aim soon - No reload button. You either have to run your magazine dry or wait about five seconds for you to reload. Overall, it's a fantastic piece of work and I'm sure it'll climb to great heights. Here's hoping for more from this amazing developer. Now go out there and raise some Hell. Nazi furs ♥♥♥♥ off~
Honestly one of the best side-scroller's that I've played recently. Each character has a different loadout which means a different play style. I'm looking forward to the upcoming updates and seeing how the game grows!
Camp Z: The Awakening is one of the most impressive indie games I’ve played in a while. It's a WW2 side-scrolling shooter/platformer with an alternate history twist that gets a lot right. Gameplay is tight but challenging. You need to learn each Binary Elite’s strengths, but once you do, the combat flow-state you settle into is incredibly satisfying. My favorite Elite is Carol the Stork — her special ability is powerful, and her Springfield lets you rack up collaterals thanks to its range and stopping power. Defiance Mode is the meat and potatoes of the game. It's an endless survival mode that’s fast, intense, and highly replayable. Think side-scrolling COD Zombies, with upgrades every 5 levels and an extra life every 10. Simple concept, executed really well. The soundtrack deserves credit in this mode also. It slowly builds in intensity as you climb higher, adding tension but also pumping you the ♥♥♥♥ up. There's also a global leader-board so you can see where you stack up against the competition. Worth noting: this was made by just two people, which is impressive given the level of polish throughout. You can tell it was a labor of love. I noticed a few visual glitches here and there & sometimes the audio peaks when there's a ton of action on screen in later rounds, but overall the current build is super solid. I highly recommend Camp Z and really hope we see some updates/more stuff from this studio!
