[b]dungeon solver[/b] provides turn-based get-to-the-exit puzzling on [b]60 levels[/b]. there are traps to avoid, keys to get, switches to switch, even dark levels where you can't see anything except your immediate surroundings.
click the hero to select it, move a tile, then it's the enemy's turn, etc. you might have more than one person to guide (knights can move and attack diagonally, wizards can only move in four directions and attack only diagonally), in that case all your units first, then the enemy moves all of theirs, then traps might change their state, but you have to select somebody after every turn even if you're alone or just want to move the same character, and [b]select-move-select-move gets old really fast[/b].
there's a move counter, but no limit, ratings or anything. sadly, [b]no undo[/b] either, if you're dead, you're dead, which is pretty bad, as some levels can take a while, especially [b]without keyboard movement[/b]. wasd only moves the camera, e/q zooms in/out, but [b]no mouse panning or zoom[/b] and no way to quickly fit the whole level onto the screen either.
a few changes have been introduced based on feedback, but they hardly ever do barely anything. 'r' skips a turn, but only when 2 or more heroes are on the level, and 'f' speeds up enemy turn, but only when 4 or more enemies are on the board, so it's not nearly enough and the whole thing is [b]tedium city, waiting for animations to play out, then all the unnecessary clicking to make things slowly happen[/b].
separate volume settings, resolutions and windowed mode, good minimalist presentation and nice music, plus a friendly price, so it could easily end up being a game worth recommending, but [b]in its current state it's not fun to play at all[/b]. I stopped after 5 levels and won't be going back unless the devs do some serious patching.
