Charming little platformer made by a solo dev. Its inspiring to see people try and make their dreams come true. Just patch the tent glitch and its a fantastic first game! Keep on Keepin on!
This review is purely constructive criticism, no sarcasm or hate. I found this game on a dev vlog on YouTube and decided to give the game a try after the price dropped to $5. The game feels like it is impossible to actually progress, every time that you pick up the tent you are rolling the dice at restarting the entire game. If there was some kind of system to allow me to place my tent after progressing a certain amount of levels I would have definitely pushed to the end. For example when I pick up an item, I had to lose progress to go back to my tent to use the new item that I just obtained. That did not feel fun to play. I could not force myself to push to the end. I pushed pretty far a few times but after trying to bring my tent farther into the dungeon I got completely reset and lost all motivation to go do everything I just did, again.
Very addictive platformer! The game's tent save mechanic creates a level of challenge and demands strategy while the snappy respon time encourages you to keep trying despite the difficulty. I found the game shines most as a "pass the controller" game. I spent hours with my friends just hanging out and seeing how far we could get. Personal I wish the game emphasize how fun it is to play with friends and had some sort of high score or level counter system but regardless I think this will be a staple in our house for a while.
I can't believe it was created by someone who didn't make games before! Obviously the visuals are not Unreal 5 (go figure) but the mechanics are engaging and the game seems to be created with so much love and attention. Really nice indie title
