Droplet: States of Matter

A unique take on the genre, full of heart and matter changing! My only real complaint is, some of the levels feel simple but that is ok!

When it comes to platformers I have to admit I'm rather picky, because of the sheer amount of them you can find on Steam. I am however really glad I found Droplet, because it ticks all the boxes in my book: - Rich and vast levels, not unlike Spyro, with many secrets to discover - Engaging state change mechanics to keep the game interesting - Said mechanics are used very creatively in each level, such as they all feel unique - Charming aesthetic, reminiscent of the N64 while also being uniquely modern - Excellent sound design, which is even more appreciated given it's so often overlooked in indie games - Excellent music, which I know is written and produced by the developer as well, way above average If you enjoy 3D platformers, particularly collectathons in the vein of Spyro and Banjo-Kazooie, I cannot recommend Droplet enough. You definitely should give it a try, I guarantee you'll have a fun and engaging time with it!

I've been following this game's development for a while now and it lives up to the hype. Great game

despite the visuals, low poly models and wierd choice/implementation of textures and sound effects, this is a full packed 3d plataformer, I completed the first 2 worlds and so far it has everything you could ask for from this genre, fun plataforming and enemies to deal with, optional challenges, collectables in every corner, fun to explore, responsive controls and the abilities allows you to interact with the enviorment in different ways and you are constantly doing that to reach places and get stuff! and doesnt feel like a chore and I'm really loving it, the levels dont feel too big nor too small. I was quite surprised with the fun narrative, songs and voice acting present in almost every dialogue, this game feels very inspired by mario odyssey/galaxy and A Hat in Time, you can tell this game has a lot of passion put into! I highly recommend this game if you are also thristy for another 3d plataformer and wants that sense of adventure! tip: check/figure out what each button do if you get stuck trying to figure out a puzzle/action, almost every button of a gamepad does something.

Solid 3D platformer. The graphics remind me more of an old PS1 game, but that's not a bad thing. It feels nostalic. The music is also nice.

A bit rough around the edges, but a charming, very clever platformer with a lot of appeal. It may look a little odd at first, but once you're past the first few levels and the slightly odd look it has, the game becomes a pretty interesting platformer with a fair bit of puzzles and a lot of passion behind every aspect of it. The dialogue is especially very cheesy, you'll probably love it or at least find it amusing in how silly it can be.

Genuinely the most fun I've had playing a game in quite some time! Droplet feels familiar and friendly, evoking that nostalgia of N64 platformers while bringing a lot of personality to the table. It seems this was a solo project, which is really impressive considering the amount of playtime and how well-crafted the world is. There's such a colorful collection of levels that interact in different ways with the central mechanic of shifting between different states of matter. It's a solid (pun intended) core concept and seeing it evolve over my playthrough was a lot of fun. One thing I want to remark on is full completion. 100% in this game is challenging, but rewarding. I found I was pushed to really refine my understanding of the mechanics and levels to get there. In the end that challenge was probably my favorite part of the experience and made me appreciate it that much more. Kudos to the developer for all the work put into this. Excited to see what the future holds!

Works great on steamdeck! Just finished the first world, having great fun so far! For a solo dev game, it's well made! Game mechanics are well thought, sound design is particularly well executed, you can feel the heart that was poured into this game inspired by good oldies! Can only wish to Carl to keep up the good work in his gamedev endevours! If I can give an advice to peeps, it's to not forget you can make an immediate change of state by using R1! I forgot during a level, then it came back to my mind, but waiting for the change felt tedious, but you can avoid that if you recall you can make an immediate change, don't make the mistake like me!
