A man embarks on a journey toward the top of a mountain, to discover the truth of his existence. Along the way, he ponders the nature of life itself. Drizzlepath: Deja Vu is a spiritual revisitation of Tonguç Bodur's very first game, Drizzlepath.

I LOVE this creator's walking sims. So atmospheric, beautiful music. Of course it won't be for you if you don't like a walking sim. There isn't any fighting or shooting, not even collecting. This is an opportunity to wander through TB's imagined world. If you want a gentle escape this is the one to indulge in.
Clever games curator review: 5/10 This is a pure walking simulator. So much so that the only controls are for movement and to control the camera. This might still feel a bit like a game if there was any choice in where to go or what to look at, but no. The environments, while they appear to be wide open nature vistas, really consist of an extremely linear, moderately disguised corridor. Occasionally there is a moment of misdirection where it seems like the corridor might go to the left, but really it turns out it goes to the right, or vice versa. There are roughly two levels. One wooded and rocky, threading thru some mountains. And then another through a snowdrift filled canyon. Both demonstrate the technical powers of the Unreal Engine V4(?), and look good. I do not think that they were generated purely at random, however there is that sense of sameness that comes from using tools to populate scenes with random geometry and objects. If there had been any kind of gameplay at all, I would say these environments were top notch. But with nothing to do other than look at them I got bored before the game came to its relatively short end. Actually I am leaving out an important aspect of this game which is the fairly frequent narrative interjections from some kind of low rent mystical guru. While not directly objectionable they are incredibly bland, such as “our bodies are 60% water, so perhaps that’s why we are so drawn to large bodies of water” (a direct quote, but from memory so I’m probably paraphrasing). Honestly I think they would have been more valued added if they had been worse, in that it would have been funnier or less predictable. For all that rather disappointing design, this game did provide the one thing I was looking for today which is something moderately interactive that would give my aching wrists a break. I wish strongly there had been just a little bit of puzzling, or mazes, or really anything that made my brain wake up. But it was just compelling enough to finish, especially given my limited ability to actually play something significantly more interactive. For that reason I recommend it, but only with the weakest possible recommendation.
I’m not usually a fan of pure walking sims, so this type of game isn’t really my thing. However, I found it more entertaining than Dear Esther. The graphics are much better, and there are some truly beautiful parts. One section, in particular, reminded me of Thomas Kinkade's paintings, with the way the light was handled. There's also a surprising horror segment that I really enjoyed, as I’m a fan of horror. The narrator is still a bit ignorable, like in Dear Esther, but at least she has a nice voice. As for the story—if there is one—I have no idea what it is, but overall, it was an interesting experience.
Why touch some grass when you have this game amirite? Seriously just go for a hike instead.
Like most lives - dull, meaningless and short.
Drizzlepath: Deja Vu - A Journey of Solitude and Reflection Drizzlepath: Deja Vu is my first foray into the atmospheric walking simulator genre, and it delivered a mixed but intriguing experience. The game immerse you in its world, with stunning graphics when played on ultra settings and high FPS. The visuals, particularly the magnificent clouds, are mesmerizing and help create a deeply atmospheric environment. Combined with the serene yet slightly melancholic narration, the game captures the essence of wandering alone in nature, searching for meaning and origin. Pros: +Magnificent Atmosphere: The clouds and overall weather effects bring the game’s world to life, making you feel as though you’re truly outside. +Authentic Feel: It captures the solitude of walking through nature while lost in thought. +Nice Narration: The voice acting has a soothing quality that complements the meditative tone of the game. Cons: -Repetitive Sounds: The footsteps grow monotonous over time, detracting from the immersive experience. -Weak Wordplay: The narration, while atmospheric, could benefit from more poetic or impactful phrasing. -Morbid Figures & Blood Rain: The use of morbid imagery felt jarring and lacked the subtlety the game’s tone seemed to strive for. -Inactive Fireflies: Fireflies and other natural elements felt static. -Lack of Dynamic Wind: The stillness of the wind undercut the natural vibe the game aimed for. (A more dynamic wind would have been perfect!) -Awkward Movement: The character’s movement lacked fluidity, which occasionally broke the immersion. Overall Impression: Drizzlepath: Deja Vu is a game with a clear vision: to recreate the feeling of walking in nature while engaging in introspection. It succeeds in crafting a rich atmosphere and striking visuals, but some aspects of its execution, such as the repetitive sounds and stiff movement, leave room for improvement. For those looking for a contemplative and serene walking simulator, it’s worth exploring. Just don’t expect a flawless experience. Rating: 7.5/10
An enjoyable true walking simulator on the nature of existence - short (less than 1 hour, the other 4+ hours were spent trying to get it to work on my older machine.) I rather liked that it was so short - IMHO Dear Ester overran its welcome. But if you don't like walking sims avoid and/or minor league existential philosophy or it you have an AMD GPU I would avoid - see below. [original review: Tried this on 2 different machines - unstable on both. Wish there was a meh option, but there isn't so getting a downvote. If you have an AMD box especially an older AMD GPU (5700 in my case), I would avoid.]
