Steam is a place full of Games. Of course! it is a gaming Plattform, i know, i know. But sometimes it is not easy to find a way through the masses of Games and we all know there are many bad fastly done games, just for the Money. And that is something that makes me sometimes sad, because there are Developer, who have their heart on the right (Gaming) side. People with passion for Games, making wonderfull Games FROM Players FOR Players. One of these Developers is WINDYBEARD. Mr. Windybeard has the rare Talent to make nearly every Game on a simple way, but addictive to the player. Creating his own Graphic Style, what you can see on every game he created, he made his own charm on his Games. Starting once with a very nice Shooter called SWEEZY GUNNER, a wonderfull crossover of a Shooter with a lightly open World in Space with many Extras to set free, he then created GEO one hell of a very addictive Mix of Action and Economy Simulation. The next step was DREAMSTONES. Once i was young i remember playing Games like ARKANOID, IMPACT or BREAKOUT. Oh, i hated that games, because i was not so good at steering a paddle to let a ball explode many Blocks. Just 3 Lifes and fastly the Game was over. Well, well, well. So i was looking at DREAMSTONES and thought: Oh no, Mr. Windybeard did an ARKANOID Clone. But then i looked back at SWEEZY GUNNER and GEO and just remembered how many hours of fun i have had with his Games. So i decided to give that game a chance. And i didn`t regret it. Starting with the Game i fastly found out that this game is a Challenge ... but fair. Mr. Windybeard created a nice World with a nice Story and added (like every game) a wonderfull Soundtrack. The Kingdom of the Dreamweaver was attacked and it is up to you to restore their Kingdom. While you and you paddle fight your way to the 5 Worlds, you free Dreamweavers, collect Money for getting Buildings and upgrades, fight Monsters and also Boss Monsters. And the Game is fair. With the help of the upgrades you can set free and vary among each other, each level is to master. Find your own perfect armored paddle and then give`em hell. Again Mr. Windybeard took much content in a simple Game. Content for hours, garnished with fair Achievements. Again i got addicted by his Game. Because of the music, because of the unique cartoon Style, because of the "Only one level more" thinking that made me forgetting time. DREAMSTONE is a little pearl in the Sea of Games, like every Game from Windybeard. It has so much nice details like Characters from his other Games, you know you play a Windybeard Game, when you play a Windybeard game. :-) Like every Game of him, the Game has a fair price and i would pay more to support him. Windybeard deserved more attention and i like to thank him for all of his Games and the Games to come. I´m excited of GEO 2 (Is upcoming!) and still hoping for a SWEEZY GUNNER 2. Developers like Windybeard are rare, they should be more supported and right now Windy beard is the only Developer for me, where i like EVERY Game, and i play Games for over 30 Years. So if you like heartblood created Games FROM Gamer FOR Gamer, this one (and others from Windybeard) are for you. Thanks for reading. :-)

Уникальная игра в своём жанре, но первые уровни настолько же легкие, насколько последние уровни сложные. Играешь последнюю планету и какое-то чувство удалить игру и больше никогда не заходить, хочется просто лечь спать и больше никогда не вспоминать это
Nope. Dont buy it. You'll be disappointed and frustrated. Initially I thought this will be a cool break from more serious titles. Although I didn't like the graphics and the story was so boring I stopped reading the dialog windows - I liked the idea of progreesing thorugh leveling up your paddle and collecting items and new skills. And even though leveling up doesn't really change anything (you get slightly "stronger" and you earn a bit more coins) i was going to play it. Just to relax and get that feeling of accomplishing something while playing casual game. But when your game is based on bouncing the ball, YOU SHOULD AT LEAST CODE THE BOUNCING CORRECTLY! Not only the paddle is bugged (especially with rapid movement) and often when you should hit the ball, it gets under the paddle or is suddenly pushed perfectly horizontally which is unrecoverable, but also the bouncing is random! What, are we back in eighties? Who thought it's a great idea to add some randomness to the angle of the bounce? Breakout games should be about precision and accuracy, which is impossible when ball goes in unpredictable way. And yes, the paddle should bounce the ball in different angles, but NOT RANDOMLY! In the past, on 8-bit computers the randomness was required to prevent the situations when ball got stuck in the infinite bouncing loop between the paddle and the wall. Today you should have control over the ball's movement by hitting it with the different parts of the paddle, and the angle should depend on that position (ball should go straight up when hitting the middle of the paddle and go almost horizontall when hitting the edge) without any randomness added to that! This spoils any fun, as you're just moving the paddle with hope that this time the ball will go where you want it. It was very frustrating. Go buy Shatter, it's way way better!
an Arkanoid clone with RPG elements, while at first its enjoyable... then you start noticing the collision and physics bugs, the ball just going straight through the paddle, being sent downward instead of back up, or otherwise the wrong direction. The split ability seems to almost always shoot a ball towards the bottom of the screen regardless of the balls original direction... making it a low value skill with a long cooldown. would love to play more... but... these bugs are just killing me
Dreamstones i got for free from a random giveaway, thought it'd be terrible but honestly not too bad. Game is akin to those of arkanoid and breakout, however you destroy various environment elements with the objective being to destroy all of the "nightmare stones" to move on and beat each level, the game has 5 worlds and bosses each introducing new enemies and different gimmicks throughout, honestly pretty well fleshed out apart from 2 issues with the gameplay, reason 1: you're required to get a target score on each level, this means you can pretty much not afford to drop the ball more than once in a level which can get infuriating for reason 2: either in the 2nd or 3rd world, there is a section where the ball 99% of the time will get stuck and the speed of the ball accelerates after set amount of boucnes, i timed it from the ball exiting this chamber to the time it took for it to go off screen, and you're looking at 4 frames worth of reaction time which is stupidly insane. However there are powerups you can use to prevent the ball bouncing forever and try to clear the stage quicker, although most are useless and only 1-5 of them are helpful for 100%ing stages. The graphics to me honestly felt pretty clunky, the story and character design felt overly cheesy and overbearing plus the background blends in with the blocks a lot and can get overly cluttered very easily, but still the design of everything else is ok, just the artstyle doesn't match the game imo. Music is very very chill and relaxing, one of its stronger suits, SFX are satisfying to when you hear the ball hit off several things in quick succession its just so soothing on the ears. Overall? Pretty decent game that i'm willing to bet 99.999% of people have never heard of or even seen anything about, its alright for what it is but can get somewhat tedious after a while, plus stupid difficulty and luck parts kinda make the game eh. Oh and its impossible to 100%, found that out the hard way...
My Video Review can be found here: https://youtu.be/nB80xknyhvY Have I enjoyed Dreamstones and can I recommend it to you with a clear conscience? There are many pluses like many innovative ideas for block breaking game, light RPG elements, active and passive skills, challenging yet not frustrating difficulty, number of various objects to hit on each map, many levels to beat and nice colorful graphics. There are also many downsides - useless and boring town building part, uninteresting story, uninspiring weapons, strange ball behavior sometimes, insufficient ingame power-ups, generic music, the absence of dubbing and creeping stereotype. Pros: - many innovative ideas - RPG elements - active and passive skills - balanced difficulty - variability of game objects - many levels to beat - graphics Cons: - town building part - story - weapons - ball behavior - frequency of power-ups - music - no dubbing - creeping stereotype Is it suitable for family playing? Well, if the useless town building part was removed and authors would better include local multiplayer instead I could recommend it but like this there is really not much to recommend it for. It is a shame that authors put so much effort into many innovative ideas to make the modern block breaker but some of them do not really improve the gameplay but do the exact opposite. Along with creeping stereotype also caused by the fact that the environment do not change much or maybe only after many levels I have to give this original but quickly boring game Thumbs Down and VideoGaming Father’s Index 5+ out of 10 - not recommended.
Bad physics - collisions bugs, random direction at wrong times, unregistered hits, etc Character design is making a Marianas trench level entry into the uncanny valley Passives that increases chances of critical hits do nothing Lots of bugs where the ball escapes the screen from the top side and you lose a life Bad economy - you need to grind gold to be able to upgrade and unlock levels
