The Dreamworld has been infected! It is up to you to explore the Dreamworld as the DreamDasher, discover its secrets, and defeat the Nightmare.
This game was inspired by our favorite modern platformer games. They inspired us to head down this journey and to make and share this short adventure for free.
The game is designed to be played with a Controller (e.g., Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro). The game does provide keyboard controls as well as touch screen for touch screen devices, but please be aware that the keyboard and touchscreen inputs are harder to use.
For any issues, please send email to support@c3bgames.com with the details. Thanks!
Single player, free, no ads game.
This is a Short Story adventure that typically takes between 1-2 hours to complete.
Parkour Platformer with precise and simple controls: jump, air-dash, wall-slide, and invert-gravity.
Dashing is key for the DreamDasher. You can also fly through the air and overcome obstacles as you control gravity.
Instantaneous nearby respawning.
Supports a wide range of difficulty levels (Easy to Nightmare Mode), and additional Difficulty Modifiers for adjusting the difficulty settings of the game further.
Frequent autosaving to load where you left off.
Supports remapping controller, keyboard and mouse controls
You gain abilities as you progress through the story
Pressing the same key/button as you use for Jump advances you through the Dialog
The longer you hold the jump key/button the higher DreamDasher will jump
To reach the highest heights, first jump and then dash when in the air. Dash allows DreamDasher to reach additional heights when performed after you've Jumped into the air
Wall Jump DreamDasher to go up a passage way. This consists of pressing the jump key/button when you are on the wall and at the same time pressing the joystick/key in the oppositive direction of the wall you are jumping off of.
DashAttack and Gravity can only be performed once between touching the ground. There are indicators showing if DreamDasher has its DashAttack and/or Gravity available. If DashAttack is availble you will see an Orange glow around DreamDasher. If Gravity change is available, you will see Orange vapors coming out of the top of DreamDasher. These will disappear when you've consumed your DashAttack and/or Gravity change while in the air until you touch the ground again.
Dash is your attack when needed
Press the joystick/controls against a wall to slowly slide down the wall. While wall sliding, you can also press the joystick or key in the down direction of DreamDasher while on the wall to slide faster down the wall.
Towards the end of the game Nightmare has two types of laser attacks. The first is a sweeping laser, and you can Dash through the sweeping laser unharmed. The second is a tracking laser that tracks DreamDashers movement, and it charges over a couple of seconds and then fires. The tracking laser can be avoided by hiding behind objects when it is about to fire.
When trying to find all of the Crystals, look for secret passage ways (they will look different) when in the Blue level/rooms.
Difficulty - Supports 4 difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, Hard, Nightmare) which adjust the damage and speed of action during the game
The following Difficulty Modifiers allow you to further adjust the difficulty of the game. Turning on any of the below Difficulty Modifiers can result in some achievements not being obtainable
Difficulty Modifier Game Speed - Allows you to slow down or increase the overall speed of the game. Default value is 1
Difficulty Modifier Dash - Allows you to turn on Dash early as well as set it to infinite dashes (allows you to fly). Infinite means you can press the Dash as many times as you want in the air.
Difficulty Modifier Gravity - Allows you to turn on Gravity controls early as well as set it to infinite gravity changes. Infinite means you can press the Gravity control as many times as you want in the air.

this is a particle showcase with a player controller thrown in, and it plays like one. it's not the worst game on earth by far, but just because something is free and playable doesn't mean it deserves a thumbs up or even your time. There's an invisible gap above spikes that effectively makes them twice as tall, this is annoying for casuals but especially annoying for speedrunners. When speedrunning, you make a lot of tight jumps to save time. Nobody wants to make mid-jump approximations for how big a hazard ACTUALLY IS. Spikes are EVERYWHERE, so you'll be doing that math very very often. The only nice thing I can say about the game is that levels usually have several routing options, but this means ♥♥♥♥ to me compared to how stupid the spikes are misc notes: -the particles are so numerous that the screen is constantly noisy, but they can be disabled in settings -the input binds are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, players can rebind them to something not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the controls menu Steam, switch to a star or x/10 system ffs
"DreamDasher" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is a bizarre and poorly made 2D retro pixelcrap platformer (that looks bad even for pixelcrap with some kind of weird tie-dyed nightmare aesthetic) and controls, gameplay and polish all exactly on par with the visuals... awful. At least it's consistent? There's a few platformer elements here, parkour mechanics and, air-dash, wall-slide, and invert-gravity, along with the ability to perform a dash attack and change gravity once between touching the ground. None of this is implemented well. The game concept is equally poor... The whole story is about exploring the Dreamworld as the DreamDasher, discovering its secrets, and defeating the Nightmare. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render this unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just 90 minutes. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? This is a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher-quality alternatives on Steam.

I don't recommend. This game is clearly taking a lot of inspiration from Celeste, which is not a bad thing at all! Though I wish it took a little bit more inspiration. There are lots of issues, such as: the movement is floaty, unresponsive and just straight up random at times; level design is decent at it's best and sometimes levels are just too big for any progress to be made; the game looks pretty damn good the moment you load it up, but when you enter the dark world it just sucks; respawning doesn't take any time or screen transition, just kinda feels like teleporting. I didn't spend much time with the game, but these issues along with multiple minor ones are the reason why I left. I'm not saying that it's a bad game, but I definitely do not recommend it.
the game is very hard and thats not bad thing about it the bad thing about it but it has the same hard or copied challenges and the purple boss always come and just spam a move
Pretty fun overall! Nothing too special but it’s a pretty fun short platformer.
Good game!

I was asked to play and review this game so here it is my honest review of the game:
Positive aspects:

It has some great sound effects and background music.
It has some really good mechanics that remind me of geometry dash, I bet this game would be great on mobile.
Some fun references and dialog.
Really straightforward gameplay, it's a terrific game to unwind after a day of work.

In need of work aspects:

Sprites and the map tiles are really similar so it's easy to get confused on where's your character.
Game lacks an aspect of progression, you just move forward till you find a boss and kill it.
HUD needs an improvement. HUD does not support ultra-wide monitors.
Final boss is bugged, after killing it and dropping it to 0 hearts it is still alive and takes a few extra shots to take down.

The game is fun, that's for sure, some mechanics had my scratching my head which I did not expect with a free game, I had a blast beating the game and collecting some of the achievements, Music and effects were on point. Game needs some general improvements on its maps and general progression but it's was a fun experience! I fully recommend it.
Final Score: 6.5/10
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1394340/DreamDasher/
I just love the art style and simplicity of the game yet the beauty of everything mashing together. This is hands down the most fun I've ever had in a 2D platformer. I don't know what it is about the game but it just sooths my smooth brain. I just love it!
