better than spiderman
I think I just need to play it some more but currently the movement in this game feels terrible to me. Having full midair control with no inertia feels completely wrong, makes the slightest press of the wrong direction halt all momentum, and also messes with the air strafing since you still move sideways at full speed as you try to make small adjustments by turning. The character being the height of a rat makes me expect to jump way earlier than it does. And the quake style strafing is reversed. It all makes it feel like there's 3 games worth of muscle memory constantly clashing.
such swing much fall
Dream Swing is the perfect one more run game, it's a Spider-Man score attack where your only goal is to collect as many orbs as possible in five minutes. Mechanically robust and satisfying with an insanely high skill ceiling, the grappling is tight and feels incredibly good to use. It's one of those games that I suck at, but enjoy every moment of playing. $3 is a steal for something this fun.
big step forward in the Spiderman genre.
Sweet dreams
Dream Swing is an indie game that offers a simple but super addictive precision platformer. Picture yourself gliding in your dreams between heavenly arches, kind of like swinging on Spider-Man-style webs. Your main goal is to collect white-and-red orbs that look like candies. The game lets you compete with players from all over Steam, has a few different modes, and even though the movements look simple, it’s awesome for boosting memory and reflexes—and the visuals are really pleasant, which is a nice bonus for an indie game. What I liked: • Controls and physics: The ropes you use to move around behave realistically. There are no weird mechanics or buggy, unnecessarily difficult obstacles. Everything is simple and clear, which lets you focus on the gameplay. • Variety of modes: There are a few options here. The classic mode, where orbs appear in a set order, and the random mode, which I think is better for testing your reflexes. There are also "zen" modes, but they don’t count for Steam stats and are more for recording a video or something. What could be better (subjectively)? Content: The game has only two maps. On the second map, 'Disorder,' my records in Random mode and Memory mode personally don’t save. It’s not critical, but I would also like more content and features. It’s immediately clear that the developer approached this project wisely and with a clear vision. Judging by the announcements within the game, improvements are planned, and this seems believable. Therefore, i recommend buying Dream Swing.
P. S. 2x. Did you like the review or my profile? Drop a Steam reward for the review. Thanks to your support, I don't lose the point of playing and writing reviews!
Really cool and relaxing.
It's fine for its price, fun, looks good, tight controls, but there's very little content and it's a bit too floaty for my taste.
A cheap, simple and fun grappling hook platformer with solid movement, easy-to-learn and hard-to-master movement mechanics, and a lovely electronic soundtrack to get you into that flow state. I would've liked to see more intricate levels personally, as the two levels consist of identical ruins and random assets floating in space. But I understand that the game is more about going fast, getting pickups and competing on the leaderboard, rather than swinging around handcrafted environments.
Recommended, fun, relaxing, and effortlessly flow-inducing
