Reviews
Before buying this game I had already seen all the negative reviews, but I still went ahead and bought it because it looked promising nonetheless. And on top of that, I had seen that Dread of Laughter had been remade and this gave me a slight glimmer of hope and eventually the deciding factor to make me buy it. This game is... not good. And I don't like to say that. I want it to be good, I really do. I wish I was writing a good review. Because it (still) looks promising. I just can't recommend it right now though. If the developer(s) really put a lot of time in to make it something great, I'd play it again. But right now it looks as if the developer(s) didn't really care what the 'final' game looked like. And I'm sure they put a lot of time in making this, remaking it and I appreciate that. But it's - in my opinion - not good. Simple as that. The game randomly drops you in the woods after pressing the 'new game' option where the objective is almost non-existent? Luckily there is a source of light that you would naturally walk towards if you had no idea what to do. It's a little cabin with almost nothing in it. Then later on there is another cabin with
a slight jumpscare
, a flashlight and a note. After that you enter the ''main house'', but I couldn't really figure out what to do besides walking in rooms. This might just be my game bugging or something because it looked as if the textures weren't loading. Everything was blurry and weird. I don't know if the developer(s) intentionally did this but if they did; don't do it, it looks awful. Some more bugs occurred when I was walking in the woods. One being me walking through/under the map where I was supposed to walk over a small hill. And another one was me being Jesus or something because I walked right over the water. Before the bridge, there is a small gap where you would normally have to go through the water - but not my character - she just walked right over as if it was nothing. I do have a few positive things to say: like I said already, the game looks promising. If the developer(s) really took the time to turn this into something, it would be a decent game. The other positive thing is that I did find the atmosphere to be pretty creepy. Solid sound effects and use of space. Well done on that. All in all, a promising yet unfinished game that unfortunately disappoints the ones who are trying to find a good horror game. At its current state I. sadly, cannot recommend it.
Oyunun mekanı çok iyi ama optimizasyon sıkıntısı var. grafikleri iyi ama aşırı kasıyor kasması normal değil çünkü bununla aynı grafiklere sahip House on the hills, Locked up, Palmyra Orphanage gibi oyunları oynadım grafikler aynı ama onlar kasmadı yani oyun alacaksanız bu önerdiklerimi alın daha güzel oyunlar.
The bugs need to be fixed
Questo è un gioco di merda fatto appposta per fregare soldi..non è possibile giocarlo..le soluzioni sono differenti dal gioco steam.. quasta volta steam mi ha rubato i soldi maledetti
I just can't recommend this one. There's a lot of potential here. I like the setting and the pretty nice amount of gore. The open approach that let's you figure out what to do on your own was somewhat rewarding when I wasn't running into bugs that forced me to close the game to fix. Reading some of the notes resulted in my game locking up multiple times until I just stopped reading notes. There's some noticeable graphical issues like bright, flickering ground textures outside the main house. With some more polish this could be worthwhile. As it is, even with the recent update, it's difficult to play. Interesting environmental puzzles make traversing the main house pretty fun but reloading over and over from repeated deaths combined with glitches wore me down until I stopped playing. I applaud the developers for continuing to update the game. Maybe with a few more updates, this could be worth revisiting~
it is ok
So much potential but bugs, not being able to save and check points are far away make this game frustrating as well as the crappy frame rate to boot. Everything else is solid.. Good exploration, tense moments, Texas Chainsaw memories, decent graphics and a corn maze! I really wanted to like this game but it ruins your motivation when you die or something glitches out and having to restart from the beginning.
Good game!
