What this game has done should be illegal if it isn't already. If I had the resources I would go further to get a refund. This game was released for $15.99 in early access and was never finished. They instead turned it into a free to play vr tech demo that us people who payed for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game cant even play unless we happen to have a vr headset. Also they gave us some auto redeemed crap in said demo making the game unrefundable through steam.
Game turned into a VR game after I bought it, which was a standard WASD/Space game before the switchover. It was lame before the transfer anyway. Sucks eggs.
Should Dragonflight take a flight...or a hike?
Dragonflight is a free game (though it apparently used to have a price tag) involving playing as a dragon that kills other dragons and destroys castles. I don't get the premise too much, but apparently you have to save an ancient dragon's bones from a cult or else they'll unleash a bunch of bad dragons onto the realm. This experience starts up in VR-only, but because I don't have a VR headset, I had to opt for the legacy version...meaning I couldn't play the base title without resorting to a beta stage of the game. You are issued 2 levels in the legacy edition (an additional work in progress in later builds, that is extremely rough around the edges...since you don't have much control and there's only 4 stone spires above the clouds. First level is a tutorial. Second level is the main game where you'll be earning your achievements...killing dragons and destroying castles. Killing dragons isn't too hard, but destroying castles will take time. Only advice I can give on the latter is to shoot charged fireballs at their towers and double back after passing it when you get enough stamina for more fireballs. It's frustrating to destroy the castles, but you'll figure out a relatively easy way to accomplish the task. You'll only know it's destroyed when it stops shooting fire arrows (or magic spells) and a message says that the horde timer has been delayed by 10 minutes. Yes, there's a doomsday timer while you play, but it doesn't spell a gameover when the clock hits zero. You can continue to play and...if you're lucky, they'll either in-fight or get gunned down by castle archers while they are aiming for you...I kept getting power bonuses by dragons dying without me even focusing on them. Sadly, this game has a low scope for its current stage as you get a tutorial level, a main level, and the rest is just a work in progress that seems to be abandoned. The main level you'll play on has 5 castles and a bunch of dragons. You only need to destroy the big castle to beat the level, but it will take a lot of time. I also highly doubt that this came from the CGI minds of people who worked on The Matrix, Harry Potter, and Zootopia given the quality I've seen. It's not bad, but it could be better. So, would I recommend this game? I'm tempted to say no, but it's not unplayable nor is it unbeatable. I did have trouble grasping the controls, but found them to be somewhat manageable and the game is finishable...despite the abandoned development. Took me about 3-4 hours to 100% as I kept trying to figure out what to do, but it seems to take other people about 1 hour to 100%. While I'm tempted to give this game a 4/10, I feel the following score may be more appropriate. Try it if you'd like, but be sure to change it to legacy edition if you don't have a VR headset. 5/10 Not too shabby, but needs more work.
even free i dont recommend this single button control on rails demo-like experience
As a dragon lover I bought this game years ago, it was fun for a little bit, for the fact that the model and animations looked cool and you could fly around canyons as a dragon breathing fire on other dragons and destroying castles. Then out of the blue they just change it to VR only so people like me cant even play it anymore, and I dont know if i can even get a refund because i bought it so long ago. Its a shame really because it had a lot of promise. If you want a game you can control a dragon and fly around as, check out Day of Dragons, currently in development and they are making good progress

Eh.. it's not a game, it's a tech demo. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. 7 minutes start to end. You're not flying on a dragon, you're running a long a rail with the image of a dragon somewhere beneath you. There is no freedom to move on your own.

Dragonflight is a free VR game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, sounded ok, played ok. It is on Rails flying a dragon while you aim and fire his breath weapon at targets, you receive a score at the end. I got it for free, this might have been a Paid product while in EA at one time, and this might be part of the reason for negative reviews. Has 4 open steam achievements, two which are bugged. it is a seven minute ride and it is hard to hit Moving objects with the breath weapon. Warning: might cause motion sickness. Try it, if you like flying games in VR.
