Shows alot of promise, runs exceptionally well,Like to see more sound effects added, also day and night cycle would be great and weather effects, hope the devs keep adding more to this because it's got the makings of a good VR title.
This is the kind of game I expect the future of Virtual Reality games to follow. Well designed mechanics and interesting concepts of kingship. While the animations and controls are obviously imperfect, this is definitively a step in the right direction. If you enjoy base building games with pawn control and have a VR headset, this is definitely a must have game for you. There are several game-breaking bugs, a number of which come about as a result of the map not functioning as intended, however, it is still my favorite VR game released to date.
Video Review: https://youtu.be/ruXnNY7Evrg I have only experienced a tiny portion of this game but it has me hooked, like AOE in VR built first person with dragons. If you come across this review and see low playing time it's due to being curator of a VR group and trying to video review and Steam review every game that comes through the program. Leaves little time for actual playing for the fun of it but when I do I play the ones I enjoyed. This one will be on my play list for those times once I've got through a few others ahead of it. The world building like AOE but being ground level when it's happening is very cool. You can go out to a map of the kingdom and move your king around and then go down to where he ends up. Take an army when you do this I took two workers and a spider and the Orcs destroyed me. Graphics are basic, sound is basic and no voice acting but it has plenty of features that make it more than worth while. Recommended buy for those who like AOE and see video for more of a review.
On paper, the premise is ideal: a combination of first person gameplay and RTS base-building. The RTSS (realtime strategy shooter) genre holds SO much potential, and it surprising nobody has made a spiritual successor to Battlezone 2 (which was lightyears ahead of its time). The main issue here is that controls are clunky at best, and combine this with the fact that this game is missing some generic RTS elements that would streamline gameplay. For instance, you can't assign groups of units to any sort of hotkey system (something like a rotary menu for unit management would be nice). This makes managing an army of any significant size too frustrating. This came out of EA too soon and needs some serious kinks ironed out, and due to the cumbersome gameplay I cannot recommend No King No Kingdom VR currently. Hopefully these minor gameplay quality of life issues get sorted because I WANT this game to be good.
Crush your enemies. See them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.
Fantastic fun in this RTS game i spent ages making my guys attack goblins and stuff easy to pick up and play and one you will come back to over and over
The controls for this game are horrible. Very confusing, and this game was released in 2017, and they still have the controls issues? I am using the HTC Vive, and trying to use the grips while at the same time on the other controller using the trigger is awkward at least. Why can't you simplify these controls? Unfortunately, I will need to return this one.
Absolutely great game. It was about 10 hours to finish the campain and easily worth it. i really dont understand the bad rewiews i do think that the controlls werent the greatest but still one of the best games i have ever played
I've spent a wonderful time playing building my fortress up in a defensive way. It hsa quite large open world, wich a can conquer. With Co-op mode game becomes more funny. Riding on spider and dragon who is under control of the second player in headset is more challenging :D
I got about 3 hours in and i'm hooked. the graphics suck and the controls take getting used to but this game is amazing. Lots of stuff to manage, lots of upgrades avaiable and very big surprises. would love to see a game like this with a big developer backing it. would gladly pay 60 for a game like this with better graphics, sound and polish. for 20 bucks you will more then get your money worth. lots of modes and tonnes of content here, cant wait to play again
