Dragon's Vengeance

This is a well done game, from story to quests, you get enough items if you search for them. The game will get harder. So get the best weapons and armor. The enemy can get nasty and can kill you with one hit. So guys if you think you got the guts, for $5.00 pick this game up YOU wont regret it.

I've put a few hours into this and I'll say it's pretty well done. It's an RPGMaker game so there's some assets you might recognize. However the games writing and programming are it's upsides. There's many things like enemies being visible on the map, and quest system that show that time was but in to this game. If you are looking for a challenging RPG than this right up your alley.

Short review: 9.75/10, Everything about this game is wonderful! Long review: This is one of my first RPG games, simply because I'm not really into this genre. However, this game's really changed my view on the genre because it does nearly everything really well! I love the complexity of the story and vast number of items that can be collected, there's lots of small quests that you can do to gain extra items or coins, and the variety of characters with custom dialogue makes the game feel like it's worth way more than £3.99. My only meh for this game is the backgrounds in the cutscenes, simply because a few of them are a little simplistic. Not that I really notice when fighting against the numerous random enemies or bosses that spawn. As a side note: one of the other reviews stated that there were too many enemies, but I disagree as the game gives you more than enough items and save points. You just have to go scavenging for the items, or do some quests and get coins to purchase some items from the shop! The games a little difficult for someone new to it like me, but it's balanced well so it's not impossibly hard like other games. I really like the difficulty to be honest, as many other games walk you through each step and purposefully make enemies weaker than usual. In this the fighting against enemies requires strategy and a good amount of items. The story is well written too, and it's whats causing me to plan on actually completing the game, something I rarely do for PC games nowadays. If you're looking to get into RPG games, I highly suggest this one for it's price, game mechanics, music, quests, and story. Seriously, check it out for yourself!

This game is a lot of fun! It captured the feeling of playing a game like Final Fantasy or other JRPGS really well, and after following along on the progress of the game, The characters are all varied and interesting/amusing, and similarly to FF6/FF4/BOF (Breath of Fire) so our main character (Tayana) but all the characters get chances to shine. this game has more unexpected story twists, which help to create some fun "no way" type moments. Dragon`s Vengeance does a good job of having the different characters feel more unique in their battle usage, with specific skill sets and stats that differentiate them. You can still customize stats and some available magic on the different characters through a Materia-like system, so it's a nice balance of unique characters while granting slight control to the player to how they want to build their team. This game has a good difficulty for someone who cares more for the story than battles. I am not the kind of person who is interested in extreme difficulties, which is why I still find myself occasionally returning to games like Chrono Trigger. Dragon`s VengeanceI captures that level of SNES RPG difficulty pretty well; there are some hard fights, but typically nothing annoyingly difficult. If you are someone who wants extremely tedious fights where you have to grind a lot beforehand, or you want fights where you need to plan and equip the perfect set of skills, then this will likely feel too easy. I highly recommend this for anyone trying to scratch that SNES RPG itch and doesn't feel like playing. As Dragon`s Vengeance was more of a Novel combined with JRPG style, this is a very fun game. using more custom sprites as well as awesome custom music. The game length is also what I consider a good length for an RPG (40ish hours), but obviously, that's subjective and I can appreciate the desire to sometimes play something you can finish off quickly (being older can equal less time for gaming). So to briefly summarize, you will like this game if: - You played JRPGS and liked it - You enjoy RPGs such as FF6 or Chrono Trigger - You care more for the story than difficulty - You enjoy a varied cast of characters - You like characters to fill specific roles in battle You will likely not enjoy this game if: - You want Dark Souls difficulty in your battles - You don't have the time/desire to play longer games - You prefer a game with a defined central character Final Verdict This game is BIG, and there is a lot of everything: many playable characters, many opponents, a big main quest, and several subquests and optional activities you have to read each dialogue carefully and remember the positions of the various cities and points of interest on the main map A dream came true: I was hoping to find a great old style JRPG as good as FFVI, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire, Suikoden, etc., with white, red, and black mages, many dungeons and side quests, airships and crystals, and a large cast of different interesting characters... Well, this was the game I was dreaming about. Ok, my three advices are: 1) Play this game! 2) Learn the opponent’s weaknesses and exploit them (use ice against fire monsters, for example!) 3) Interact with every barrel and crate because there are lots of hidden items!

No I do not recommend this slow walking, grinding mess of a game where you can't go 10 steps without having to fight plus supplies are few and far between.

Sorry, but I just can't recommend this game. The fights are too unbalanced. Even with high level and best equipment your single character doesn't hit hard enough to kill an enemy also there is the problem that you expect the archer you don't have skills that hits the whole enemy party (or heals your party)....BUT if you use scrolls most mobs are done in one go....you only need to survive long enough for your party to start using the scroll (again, even simple enemies have higher agility than your best char). Another point is that your characters can't run, only normal walking speed is possible...in a screen without anything to do that is just boring. So what does a normal fight look like? First you need enough money to stock scrolls (over 50 should your goal...99 is better). Than have 2 characters with the highest agility use them (after a fight you'll know which one they are vulnerable). After the enemy is done it is time to heal...don't use potions because you'll need the money for equipment and scrolls. Now there are a few problems (more?). First you can only save outside a dungeon or at a save cristal. 2nd there isn't an easy way to travel back...you know those nice warp stones in other games....nada...that's a little hassle because next to the visible enemies you'll encounter invisible every vew steps and the trying to run away....good luck with that! 3rd sometime the game is a little cheater....after a fight against a big boss....you must fight against the next biggy without restocking. That said there are some good parts in this game: interesting story...don't get to cosy with one character...because maybe in the next part he is gone. There is a swap my items in every location. So far the game only crashed ones for me. Still like I wrote...I can't recommend this game. edit 07-30-2022: so I finished the game. And I stand to my review. This game was more like work than enjoying a play. The fights were more expanding making the gametime because the usual mob...2 rounds (mostly 1 was enough) they they were gone....only that the encounter rate was skyrocketing. The Boss fights? Not much better.

Nice and difficult game. Recommended if you like turnbased action RPG
