Doughlings: Invasion is a console game that's been dumped on Steam. Worse, it's an unabashed ripoff of Space Invaders (copyright Taito 1978). To this date it seems Taito have taken no legal action to enforce their intellectual property rights. There's a few superfluous bells and whistles like a campaign mode, different enemy types, bosses and so on... an excessive amount of effort has been expended to make it look like the "developers" here didn't rip off Taito's IP, but it's pretty clear that's what's happened. "We like your game so much we'd like to get all the money for it without giving you any of it" is the developers motto here. Real unethical stuff, especially considering you can play the original Space Invaders for free if you want. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. Because this is a console game, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the inferior console gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the console-centric developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for consoles forces upon a game. Once more, console peasants have made gaming worse for everyone. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Doughlings: Invasion didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for upgrading one of the "characters" in the game, but only around 20 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game. The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Doughlings: Invasion has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of $10 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. This is also competing with over 9,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the ridiculous price they're asking to be paid for someone else's game, this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
作者能看到吗,你的游戏进不去啊,初始画面右下角一直转圈圈,转了几分钟都进不去,卸载重装还是一样。
Doughlings: Invasion switches things up with a Space Invaders-style shooter format, but the experience feels fairly basic overall. The colorful presentation and special abilities add some charm, yet the gameplay loop remains pretty straightforward and doesn't offer many surprises. While it's functional and easy to play, it struggles to stand out from other arcade shooters. An okay distraction for a few hours, but not something that left a lasting impression.
𝔻𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕤 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕓𝕒𝕔𝕜... 𝕟𝕠𝕥 𝕚𝕟 𝕡𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕡𝕠𝕟𝕘 𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕞𝕒𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙!
Doughlings: Invasion is different than Arcade because it's not in Galaga format... Same stuff though, Morpheus can still morph into a bunch of different heroes that are upgradable and have super powers. This is however quite short and can be completed, with all achievements, in under 5 hours flat! 8/10 Arcade game for all fans of Galaga!
they made a Brick Breaking Roguelike... i hate it 3/10 Doughlings: Arcade is vastly superior
Yes, it's as bad as it looks.
i am sorry but it is not worth 15 dollars
space invaders with some extras yet it's still just as boring. you can save people, transform into stuff, and there are now bosses but it's to close to the source material. the added features do not not make this more exciting and even if you enjoy space invaders clones i'm sure you can find something better for less than $10. maybe it's free on your phone though since this is obviously made for that platform.
Doughlings: Invasion pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on cons: //some difficult boss battles //repetitive/boring //lack of content //no save points (losing is a grindfest that makes you start over) //good game Personal Suggested Purchase Price: Free To Play
