For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

About

Lured out of her solitude, Gloom Girl discovers a chamber containing DOOMBLADE: a sentient weapon, trapped and bound for eons. “Doom and Gloom” join forces and begin a quest to regain the blade’s powers and exact vengeance on its captors.

Wielding DOOMBLADE, Gloom Girl can ride through the air to attack enemies. Target monsters to attack them directly, and slay them with DOOMBLADE’s wrath!

The blade hungers for vengeance on the Dread Lords, who bound it in chains and stripped it of its powers. But first, it must regain its strength. Search for demonic shrines, where DOOMBLADE’s powers were hidden and stored by the long dead Gloomfolk, awaiting its return. Then use Doom Drop, Wicked Wind, and the Nightmare Onion to teach your enemies fear.

From the abandoned halls of Gloomhaunt, into the New Wilderwood forest full of untrusting tribesmen, through the Molded Mines with their hedonistic shroom people, and into a technological hellscape known as the Power Sector. Gloom Girl must fight her way through these interconnecting worlds and destroy the monsters within as she hunts down the Dread Lords who imprisoned DOOMBLADE.

When it comes to Metroidvanias, one of the key components is backtracking, and this game does it well. The music, the fast paced platforming, it's really nice and fluid. My only complaint is that it's a bullet hell kind of game. You think you can clear a room then you get ambushed by enemy bullets going through the wall. I like fast paced games, and about an hour in, I'm 10% of the way through, which is a lot faster than what I anticipated. The game does recomend you to use keyboard and mouse, but I've been enjoying the fluidity of using a controller. Does this make the game harder? Probably, but being able to fly across the map is a lot of fun. A lot of areas are locked between ability walls, but the map is massive and getting currency is really easy, but when you die, you go back to your last checkpoint, so back to square one. You keep some money, but the ones that you got before the save. So if you get, let's say, 1k in currency (bones), and not save, that would be gone. It's a lot of going back and forth, and I'd give this game a good 7/10. Music: 10/10, it kept me engaged and I locked in Combat: 8/10, sometimes the attacks don't hit and you end up taking damage. You can pogo using your attacks, which can take a bit to master. Map: 7/10, I know backtracking is a big thing in this game if you couldn't get to an area without an ability, but a lot of the rooms (at least in the beginning) is a bullet hell mess, but it's so satisfying clearing a room with one sweep. This game isn't going to be for everyone and it's understandable. The lore in the game is also interesting and kind of has the same writing style as Hollow Knight. If you aren't big into Metroidvanias, this game isn't for you. But if you are, imagine Hornet from Silksong but she's on crack
A great game ruined by a forced stage-revisiting logic and unclear destination during a big part of the playthrough. If I play a platformer I'm expecting to not grind bones from the corpses of my enemies and revisit same places 20 times like a lost brainrot in an open world RPG. Thankfully it gets better once you unlock many powers
This is a very tough one to rate. I would not vote yes or no, but more in the middle. It's awkward to control with both the ps4 and xbox controllers but when I tried with my laptop trackpad and keyboard it was even more annoying so I switched back to the ps4 controller. Movement and movement upgrades are unique and I enjoyed finding secrets. Save points are pretty generously spread but the fast travel wasn't as useful or efficient as it should have been. A lot of bosses require less obvious gimmicks and the game doesn't always do a good job hinting at what they are. I could not always tell how to do damage or even why something worked. I can see why others might like this if they can get used to the ...weird controls faster than I could, but this was not for me. Beat this at 84% in 20.5 hours.
The game is great with fun unique combat mechanics and movement where you use your cursor as a means to deal damage and to quickly move around, which can be really smooth and fast-paced once you get the hang of it, and a bit of bullet hell - which I think is pretty fun. The boss fights are also really cool and very fun once you figure each of them out. As for the abilities, I think you get them pretty quickly which really ramps up your movement and progression. The music and atmosphere are also great; I think it fits quite nicely for each area and combat section and the backgrounds are sooo cool - I love them. Also, the mini-stories you can follow through with some of the npcs are amazing and genuinely pretty interesting and surprising so long as you're the kind of person who likes to come back and check on them every now and then (like me). Now, as much as I did enjoy the game, I do have a few gripes about it too. While I think a big map is fine, the lack of pins or items that search for remaining collectibles once you're at the late game has genuinely frustrated me so much. There's just a lot of things you can interact with (for both items, lore, and achievements) but it also makes it incredibly difficult to find that last one or two items you're missing or need to interact with (I'm literally missing one heart piece and I cannot find it for the life of me so I'm just gonna replay the game all over lol). Another big issue I had was traversing the map in the late game. While yes, I am incredibly stupid for only finding out near the very end of the game that I could have just started hopping around in the void using my abilities instead of just using the early game way, I do think it would have been nice to be able to teleport to specific places. I think it would just save a lot of time but that's up for debate. Just a small issue I had was figuring out where to go sometimes. Yes, this is a metroidvania - so backtracking and all of that is absolutely expected - and I do think the game does do a good job for the most part but there have been times in the early game where I was wondering where I should go and it seems like some people also felt that or had a worse experience of it (so just keep that in mind since the game wants you to explore every nook and cranny if you wanna 100% the map which means it probably wants you to take your time, so I guess figuring out where to go is probably the least of your worries). Tl;dr the game is really fun and I love the unique combat mechanics and movement with the bullet hell-like fights. The mini-stories from the npcs are absolutely amazing and probably my favourite part of the game and the boss fights were amazing. The atmosphere, music, and backgrounds are great and very fitting. But I dislike the lack of items that search remaining collectibles in the late game and would have liked to see some teleport mechanics. Also, warning, you might find it difficult to tell where you should go next sometimes, although the game does a decent enough job for the most part imo.
Cool
this game is amazing, i love the movement and all the other mechanichs of the gme, its so well done and i hope it gets more love
