I have problems with the key! it dont work any more
While I prefer classic Doom action, this game is a lot of fun. They should make a remake that follows classic Doom action game play with metal music but keeps the level design and everything else the same (save for anything that makes the protagonist look week like running from the maledict).

A flawed classic, peak spooky atmosphere.
# DOOM 3 Vanilla Review — 3/10 ## “A Space Marine Walks Into Hell… Then Asks Where the Flashlight Batteries Are” **Rating: 3/10** Listen up, Marine. You were promised **DOOM**. You were promised a one-man apocalypse. A walking weapons platform. A demon extermination machine with a shotgun in one hand, a chainsaw in the other, and absolutely no interest in hearing Hell’s complaints department. Instead, **DOOM 3** gives you a flashlight, a dark hallway, and the exciting tactical mission of checking whether every single corpse, locker, shadow, and suspicious wall panel is about to ruin your afternoon. This is not the story of the ultimate demon hunter. This is the story of a guy who traveled to Mars and somehow became the galaxy’s most qualified flashlight technician. **Classic DOOM** was simple: demons appeared, you shot them, and the soundtrack told your neighbors that something violent was happening. You weren’t exploring a haunted office. You were conducting a hostile takeover of Hell with a shotgun and poor decision-making skills. Then came Doom 64, which took the original formula and made it darker, stranger, and more atmospheric without forgetting the most important rule: **You are still the problem.** DOOM 64 understood that horror and action could coexist. It was creepy, it was moody, and it had some genuinely disturbing moments — but when demons showed up, you didn’t hide in a corner waiting for your flashlight battery to recharge. You pulled out a weapon and reminded Hell why it should have stayed closed. Then the modern era arrived. Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal looked at the franchise history and said: “What if the player is the nightmare?” DOOM 3 looked at the same history and said: “What if the player is afraid of a zombie wearing a lab coat?” The atmosphere? Incredible. The lighting? Revolutionary. The demons? Beautifully disgusting. The gameplay? A slow-motion haunted house tour where every room contains either a zombie, a demon, or a developer hiding behind the wall waiting to press the “spawn monster” button. Congratulations, Mars. You invented the world’s most expensive haunted IKEA. The biggest problem is that DOOM 3 wants to be a survival horror game while wearing a DOOM jersey. It wants you scared, cautious, and uncomfortable. That works. For a horror game. But DOOM is about becoming the thing Hell is afraid of. The funniest part is that other games delivered what DOOM 3 was chasing — but with more confidence. Want horror with combat that actually makes you feel like a trained killer? Play F.E.A.R.. Those soldiers flank you, communicate, and hunt you down like they have a personal grudge against your continued existence. Want pure demon-blasting insanity? Play Painkiller. It is basically a metal album cover that learned how to hold a shotgun. Want old-school speed and attitude? Play DUSK or Selaco. These games understand that movement, aggression, and satisfying weapons are what make FPS combat addictive. Want a sci-fi shooter with actual world-building? Half-Life already proved that laboratories could have personality. Gordon Freeman walked through Black Mesa and found more life in a disaster zone than DOOM 3 found in a Mars base full of expensive computer equipment. Want a darker military sci-fi shooter from the same family tree? Quake 4 may not be perfect, but at least it remembers that a space marine should occasionally feel like a space marine. And if you want DOOM 3’s maps without DOOM 3’s slow crawl? The community already fixed the problem. Classic DOOM with Brutal Doom or Project Brutality turns the Marine back into the unstoppable demon blender he was born to be. Even DOOM 3 map mods using classic DOOM gameplay or Brutal DOOM-style mechanics show that the environments weren’t the issue. The problem was making the Doom Marine feel like he needed a permission slip before opening fire. DOOM 3 is not a terrible game. It is worse. It is **almost amazing**. It is a gorgeous horror shooter trapped inside a franchise that demands you kick Hell’s door down, scream something intimidating, and start solving demon problems with industrial-grade violence. Instead, DOOM 3 politely knocks. “Hello, demons. Sorry to interrupt. Could you please attack one at a time while I search for my flashlight?” **Final Verdict: 3/10** ✅ Great engine ✅ Great atmosphere ✅ Great demon designs ✅ Impressive visuals for its era ❌ Forgot what made DOOM legendary ❌ Slower than a Cyberdemon filling out paperwork ❌ Makes the Doom Marine feel like he needs a flashlight warranty **Recommended? No.** Play Classic DOOM. Play DOOM 64. Play Modern DOOM. Play Brutal DOOM. Play Project Brutality. Play F.E.A.R., Painkiller, DUSK, Selaco, Half-Life, or Quake 4. Because the scariest thing in DOOM 3 isn’t Hell. It’s realizing the demons didn’t conquer Mars. **They conquered the design philosophy.**

RECOMENDO.
Cool game. Wish there was actual widescreen support wait isn't there a mod? And NO don't mention BFG edition its easier and the flashlight throws me of i wish the flashlight was centered.
