I picked this up without really knowing what to expect, and it ended up being one of the most unique games I've played in a while. Watching people through security cameras, piecing together clues, and deciding whether to get involved or simply observe creates a gameplay loop that's oddly addictive. I also like that the game doesn't tell you exactly how to play. It trusts you to experiment, make mistakes, and live with the consequences of your choices. That freedom makes each playthrough feel a little different.
I like the overall concept of the game, but there were a few things that really hurt the experience. First, there isn't any tutorial. I managed to figure out the controls and gameplay after about 10 minutes, but that's something the game should teach instead of expecting players to discover on their own. When I get stuck trying to find the right word combination for a search, I'd much rather have a hint button than spend several minutes brute forcing every possible combination. Another annoyance is that cells which can no longer be interacted with still keep notifying me whenever something related happens. If a cell is no longer useful, it shouldn't keep demanding my attention. This is especially true when the cell is not one with a story in the first place (e.g. thermal cell). Finally, buying multiple cells at once can leave you with unusable half-cells. If you reach the purchase limit before you can buy the matching half, you're stuck with a cell you can't complete. If you're already at the maximum level, those half-cells become permanently useless, which I hope is not an intended feature. Overall, I enjoyed the core idea. The game was really hard to get through without a guide, this is why I think a hint button (even if it costs money) would be a nice addition.
I love this game so much almost got all achievements. I need more cages and achievements, because its a really really good game. I hope my review reach the developer, and take my "advice" to get more cages and achievements. :D
one of the few games of this concept that actually grabs your attention and keeps it. each camera acts as its own little mini-plotline, usually with some kind of twist to it, sometimes you get a random cam and a couple days later you catch something that completely changes the context of another cam. probably the best detective type game I've played, really makes you feel like a matrix god pulling the strings of the system. good resource management element that doesnt get too constrictive. once you've played through a couple times you realise just how short the game actually is. a proper sequel thats just more of the same would be peak.
I forgot I had this game in my library and found it while looking for other games to finally get around to playing. I'm pleasantly shocked at how good this game actually is. It's genuinely addicting and kind of scratches that roguelike itch I always seem to have so big thumbs up
