I have no idea what the problems in my empire are (let alone fix them), so there’s nothing to do. I’m kinda winning a war, but there’s no way to tell what could improve it, so I just sit and watch. Kind of a ♥♥♥♥ game
This game has potential even for me, but way too cpu intensive and ram overloads. Bad optimization. Still decent And I know it seems like 14 minutes means im judging, but my 16gb of ram that it says is reccomended, is not enough and the game was taking 32gb of ram even on the 500 star galaxy, I dunno what is wrong but if the game cant run as it should then I gotta give it a thumbs down sadly.
Tired of Stellaris' BS? Want to just enjoy a 4X with some nice tactical elements instead of a RTS pretending to be a 4X ? Well go away. We're not doing that here. We're pretending to not-not be Stellaris while also still being legally distinct. We do have less constant war and you can automate a lot if you can't figure out our arcane systems - excuse me- suck at learning. Come for the economics simulation, stay for the uh leave for the oh look they are scalping the previous title's factions as overpriced DLC.
Got this game 4 years ago, never could paly more then an hour before I got bored, left it on and forgot to turn it off. Did try a long session once just to see but it really didnt change my feelings on the game. Idk I wanted to like this game but something about it is just , empty? and the music is horrible. Coming from stellaris, this game just feels void of stuff to do. Somehow a whole galaxy has only the same couple space monsters in it, not much to do with worlds comparingly and the whole thing just feels like a numbers factory where the focus is to let the AI play the game for you. Now my opinion is probably biased since im a long term stellaris fan (and that game is far below perfect ether. lots of issues) so im sure others have fun with distant worlds 2. I wish there was a moderate review option instead of just negative and positive
For a 4x strategy game it really lacks the strategy element. The heavy automation means you are shoehorned into a specific build each time with little flexibility, mainly coming through your research focus. You can focus certain techs but the game lacks the compounding affects other games provide, like you cannot stack commerce or research modules to get ahead that way. Strategy boils down to maximum expansion and maximum firepower, anything else is pointless. There is some min maxing with ships designs but that's about it. It's mainly a simulation game not 4x strategy.
No idea, maybe this game is good. But it has the worst UI I have seen in decades of gaming. The tutorial window that vanishes after some milliseconds did not help.
Great game. It's not as polished, but it does give you a unique experience of trying to manage a super large empire with the help of automation. The game's take on the 4x genre is unique and well worth it. Unfortunately it crashes all the time until you just give up trying to load your save. I've done the files integrity check, reinstalled, but I just can't get the unmodded vanilla game to work without crashes. Edit: Apparently my last 5 savegames were corrupted and I had to backtrack. I recommend saving often, and also now and then trying to load your savegames to see whether they are still good or whether corruption has set in and you need to backtrack to an older save. Edit 2: I'll leave the upvote because I love the game and I know it's a passion project for the wonderful devs, but I've stopped playing for now. I've gotten in a 100 hours and the game has crashed somewhere between 10 and 20 times. Even with lots of saving, this is too frustrating.
Deeply nerdy, horribly addictive if you're into the genre. Thoroughly recommended.
i just didnt like it i guess, its kinda cool but i guess i cant seem to understand how borders work in this game,
