neat lil mahjong game with the extra added spice that everyone is out to PON you both over the table and uh, over the table seriously, these guys will CHI your behind and KAN all over your PAI get RON'd, idiot
The mahjong is fun, the characters and dialogue are cute, and its super easy to pick up and play whenever I want to play a round or so (rather than a full multiplayer match like in mahjong soul).
As a long-time Riichi Mahjong player, I'm always thrilled to see new takes on the game, and this is a very interesting one so far! The art style and characters are very charming, and I'm really enjoying the different goals you need to accomplish in story mode. Some of which have been forcing me to try and play in ways that I'm not used to, which has been quite refreshing.

I love women and nyan binary ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
finally got my ass to learn mahjong
One of the best riichi mahjong clients on steam. LOVE a mahjong game without gacha. The titular dirtbag/story mode is fun but not the main reason I bought it, I really just really love mahjong and don't have time to play online with friends all the time. The characters were really charming and grew on me a lot. I think this is great for those who are familiar with the game and want to spice things up a little and for beginners looking to learn the ropes and experiment. All this to say: I'm a dirtbag mahjong enjoyer <3
It's neat! I like it.
this game's got some charm, pretty decent for a mahjong novice like me! admittedly, the text size and some UI elements feel a bit small for my strained eyes (even on a steam deck). [edit after clearing all the stories] I did really enjoy the stories and how feasible the missions felt! I'm at least competent enough to get mostly-finished hands!
A fun mahjong game with characters that have abilities used to attack each other that adds an extra layer of strategy on top.
I'll start by saying that this game was developed by my friends, so I'm biased in its favour. Nonetheless, it's a fantastic riichi mahjong game that offers unlimited standard play, as well as a fantastic "dirtbag mode" with six characters, each of whom brings unique mechanics and twists on the old formula. On top of that, the story mode has engaging and funny writing and a number of unusual challenges that will require you to play in new ways, such as going for specific yaku or losing on purpose (which can harder than it sounds!). And if you're new to riichi mahjong, there's a very accessible tutorial, both in text and interactive, as well as easy mode. If you're at all interested in mahjong, whether learning it or seeing it from new perspectives, or even just having a well-coded single-player client for your tiles, Dirtbag Mahjong is an excellent choice. Plus, you can play as Hana to finally get that wretched nagashi mangan with only a little bit of cheating.
