The biggest disappointment for me is the turn-based system and the very short cycles (2-3 days each). Because of this, the game feels like a puzzle, with very little strategic depth, and there's usually no point in planning several steps ahead. The game is visually cute with some good ideas but becomes repetitive quickly. The story mode is easy and lacks challenge. The content feels incomplete, like an Early Access game
I’m honestly not sure if Diluvian Winds was ever meant to be a kids’ game, but that’s exactly who I’d recommend it to: kids, and only kids. The idea is adorable: a parade of different animal species working together to save their little cliffside refuge from the effects of climate change. Not only cute, but actually kind of educational, cooperation, planning, and “please don’t let the house collapse into the ocean” are solid life lessons. For adults, though? The repetitiveness hits hard, the pace could lull a caffeinated squirrel to sleep, and the lack of a proper soundtrack really doesn’t help. Serious players will likely get bored long before the next storm rolls in. I'll leave it with a 5/10 score for grown ups but perfectly fine if you want to teach your kid some basic commonwealth-style cooperation.
There's a lot of hate for this game in the reviews, but I myself liked it. The game is a simple resource management type game where you must build and survive in your little lighthouse community. The game is a good way to pass time and like the Civilization games you'll be invested to take just one more turn.
I do not like the core gameplay loop of using turns to do each action. I also think the art of the game is solid, but the limb-based animation style severely holds it back from being a beautiful game. So I just don't like the look of the game overall
I like the art design, but that is about it. It does not have that "Just one more turn" mentality. It is more complete than some of the games that exit early access, but it seems like some of the systems could have been fleshed out/polished/balanced a lot more. I almost quit a minute in because the story/tutorial really does not help you out with initially figuring out what you need to do or click on. Just keep clicking on stuff until you figure it out. After that initial frustration, it becomes fun, figuring out the various systems...and then...meh...kinda boring...
Really chill resource management game and cute artstyle but i kind of wish it was a little bit harder since normal difficulty feels like easy imo. Also wish there was a bit more content since after 15 minutes the game kind of becomes really repetetive and new mechanics aren't different enough to make the game less repetitive. It's fun though and if you want something chill and cute you might like this !
Fun little game with cute graphics, not very complex. Gameplay loop is good for a couple of hours until you max out the research tree since there's not really an endgame so you just keep accumulating resources for no reason, and it quickly gets boring from there. Still enjoyable and worth a couple of bucks if you can get the game at a discount. Not recommended at full price.
A beautifully atmospheric management sim where you guide a cliffside lighthouse community through rising tides. Gentle strategy, cozy storytelling, and evolving shelters create a soothing yet thoughtful survival loop.
