Diesel The Pug Warrior

Some may say this game is a poorly made application full of bugs and bad graphic design. Those are buffoons. This is an incredible application made with love and so much artistic skill, that it is simply baffling. The story had me mesmerized, trying to complete everything, and become the buffest pug there could ever be. All the animations are so nice, I simply cannot live without “Diesel The Pug Warrior” anymore. It has changed me inside and out. Its MS Paint like art style made me reminiscent of my youth and the hours spent in that program, good memories. In a nutshell: you don’t pay to play as Diesel, but you might as well have, due to the sheer magnificence of this video game. Obviously, the Pokemon-like fights additionally added to the entertainment provided byDiesel.

"Diesel The Pug Warrior" is a 2D retro pixelcrap JRPG with badly drawn "pugs". The only point of interest here is the academic question about whether this was deliberately launched through Steam Direct as a joke, or if the developer genuinely thought it would be okay to publish a game this bad. No matter what the answer, we are all diminished by the existence of this garbage. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off. [b]Note: Joke reviews[/b] As usual, with some of the worst games on Steam, all the comedians come out of the woodwork. The vast majority of the reviews for this game are joke reviews, mocking the game for just how bad it is. The comedians give us the usual "this game cured my cancer, saved my marriage, changed my life" story... sarcastic, but not useful if you want to know if the game is worth it. Because most of the reviews are humorous but also insincere and not reflective of the actual quality of the product, the positive review score for this game should be taken with a grain of salt.
