Devil's Wind Mine is a game where you play as an engineer controlling the pumps, seeking to save the son of a desperate mother. You are the decider of this story. It is your duty, as an engineer, to save as many miners as possible, or just one; the devil waits to be fed inside these passages.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

Really short but fun experience, won't spoil much as it was quite fun diving in blind but it's free so absolutely give it a shot!
"Devils Wind Mine" is at least a genuinely made game, even if it's not a good one. The idea is you're a mine operator, some people get stuck in the mine, and you have to save people and make tough choices, all from the comfort of your desk. This is not how mines actually work. What do you do in the game? It's a desktop simulator, really. You've got a simple display and some mine control instruments that all look like they are made out of cardboard (seriously the game assets are laughably bad). I suspect that if your mine operator made all of the controls for the mine out of cardboard boxes, this mine is probably not safe and you should not go into the mine. Anyway, operating the cardboard controls is part of your decision making process... there's a few of these amateur games on Steam and this is one of the worst. I mean, the concept might work but the technical implementation is junk. The "game" here is of a pretty low technical standard. The implementation is basic minimum effort stuff, more like a weekend project rather than a serious, professionally made product... and it's bad even compared to most amateur made games. An experimental piece... and the experiment is "Can I spend $100 on Steam Direct and then call myself a game dev?". The answer is yes, but please don't. While that $100 spend on Steam Direct probably made the developers feel good about themselves, we have to ask why this kind of thing is good for gamers. It isn't. Even though the game looks pretty bad (and decent visuals are a minimum requirement for any game), we can be fairly sure this is not an asset flip. This is because the game assets look so bad, no self respecting asset creator would publish them. That's a fail. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets of any level of quality usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of only 2 players, it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
