Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive

I indeed put myself as best as I could in 2001 mode for this review, but ultimately I cannot recommend. Even if you take into account that this game is from 2001, with all the difficulties that come with it, there are many flaws that make it impossible to have a new experience today: 1. The game's pacing at the beginning is atrocious: 1 tutorial -> mission to get new member -> Tutorial -> mission to get new member -> Tutorial -> until finally you have all of them. 2. You can't sequence anything, any new command overrides the previous, and the game revolves around quick command to not die over and over. You will make a new command before ending the last making all the preparation worthless, I guarantee you. 3. The mechanics revolve around very wonky animations and quick commands, but animation is king. If the animation is not 100% done, you will cancel the result, but since they are very wonky it is very difficult to know exactly when you can fast command anything else. 4. Stealth is buggy to say the least, (Example)you have a character that cannot be found by noise, the game itself tells you this... until it is, multiple enemies will find this characters coming from behind for no reason. Often the best strategy is make noise by shooting the weapon at nothing and killing everyone that comes to investigate. 5. Most missions have 60+ enemies and you are required to kill every single one of them. 6. Story is pretty boring with a Clint Eastwood impression through and through. End boss is incredibly long and repetitive. The game had promise, and I had fun in some missions but most of them even when looking at a guide, I had to force myself to go through it.
