Originally published in 1997 and later earning the COMPUTER GAMING WORLD's "Shareware Game of the Year 1999" award, DemonStar was and still is considered by fans as one of the best 2D space shooters on PC.

- Original Soundtrack by Bobby Prince
- New Soundtrack by Pfeffermouse
- Graphic improvements

DemonStar is the most thrilling vertical scrolling shooter on the market! DemonStar takes shooters to the extreme with controller support, 3D rendered graphics, explosive sound effects and a brilliant soundtrack. To destroy each boss, you will have to search for many weapons such as lasers, homing missiles and many more. As you pilot your spaceship through each of the 18 progressive levels, you can build up an arsenal worthy of a match against the XIDUS empire.

Finally, a classic, challenging space-shooter bullet hell game with catchy BGM that isn't just showing off sassy poses of templar anime girls while they're megabombing sh*t xD /s The legendary game that only cool kid PC users in the early '00s knew about because we couldn't afford a dedicated game console, unlike some of those entitled rich bully circles (lol). Instead, we had random CD free-shareware like SMYGB with a Pokemon Gold ROM in the same folder, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire SWF bootleg with your local languages, Blobby Volley, Magic Lines, and, proudly, DemonStar 3.25 Unregistered sitting on the window bar. Yeah, we were cool. We always knew that 😎️. But what’s even cooler is when the devs rerelease their games years later and make them even better. Worth the price and your time. Can't stop recommending this game to other people. The Legacy mode has its own charm for nostalgia, but I personally prefer the Enhanced version for the gameplay. If you've experienced (suffered) other bullet hell games before, believe me: change the difficulty to Insane and always play from Level 1 without using credits, so you can put your name on the high scores as a prove of your perseverance. Yeah, I know, thank me later. I think this is a much better way to play the game. :D Hoping for a better future for this game. Maybe some new levels or a new game mode, or even new visual aesthetics, I hope?
Not the original soundtrack, and this remake is impossible to play, normal alien ships are buffed like final boss, impossible to play.
The bosses are always the same thing in a different package and the stages are not very challenging or interesting with things just hastily scattered coming toward you. The music and the graphics are gorgeous, but too bad for the gameplay. Recommended if you're nostalgic for this, but otherwise just play Tyrian or Raptor.
