This is a real fun. It scratches an itch I didnt realize I had. I am not sure if its for everyone and the graphics are nothing to cry home about but I do think the gameplay is great.
This is just a bunch of soulless boring combat missions with no deep combat but just very very casual. If you look for an hour to play its ok but I could never play this more than that. 50+ hours of gameplay means doing 50 hours the same over and over again. In addition the inventory management window is atrouciously small. Sometimes I cannot use the skills of the party members without any explanations. And it has many other annoying quirks like zooming out every single round so you have zoom in again and again and again. Also the user interface is made for consoles and is terrible for a PC. In addition game options lack everything. It also doesnt lower the music volume at all if I use the loudness slider so I had to turn if off completely. Furthermore no changing the keyboard layout or even the game resolution. This is just a very basic casual console combat game. I dont even see anything tactical in it besides move forward and hit the enemies quickly.

Well-made dungeon crawler. Lots of variety in the available members of your party (class, equipment, skills), so it's easy to replay without repeating the strategy you used the first time. I thought it was pretty easy overall, but I did play it on normal. Higher levels might be more challenging.
Fun tactics RPG. Sometimes it is fun to NOT have to wade through a deep story, make lots of consequential dialogue choices or manage a grand strategy on the world map. Sometimes it's just fun to move a party around and figure out how to kill monsters without getting killed yourself, with level ups and the option to improve equipment, along with fun graphics and character choices. That is this game, and I really recommend it! I also recommend playing on the Extreme difficulty if you are a turn-based RPG veteran - made for a fun challenge.
This is the first pleasant indie suprise of 2023. Demon's Rise is a dungeon crawler, comparable e.g. to Warhammer Quest (you could call the game somewhat a Warhammer clone as there are ratmen, goblins and orks and the like but also some classic fantasy figures we all know). On a hex-map you make your tactical decisions and lead six heroes out of a great number (I think 30) so there are many possibilities for play styles and experiments. Each hero has six abilities which you can use after accumulating action points. Interesting concept. You can also equip your heroes with items. I played the quest missions which are sort of following a very simple story line. And there are 51 single mission scenarios called patrol missions of which I played the first 20 and the last one. Gameplay is nice enough but gets repetitive. You always are in corridors and rooms and encounter monsters there. However, all levels are unique and there are many monsters to be encountered. The devs really took care so that gamers would always get some new experience. I really liked that. That made the thing not boring but rather interesting. Graphics are crude and basic, but do the job. Same goes for music (which I turned off) and FX. I liked the creativity in monster design. For an indie game of a small studio and for a price of under 3 EUR and a game time of 28 hours I would give this one 72/100. Good and nice enough game. Can't compete with AAA titles of course. Could have been much better if it had been sort of a mix of Warhammer Quest (which is only an average game) and Battle Brothers (which is a good game).and with a real story.
I liked it more than i thought i would and for the price i say give it ago.
awsome
It's ok. The different options for play style is nice.
