A huge Thank You to the developers for patch 1.5. It really polished the game and upped the game! Nice to see that the devs are taking care of their customers. Very fun to play and starts out easy enough for any player of any experience , but you can select more and more difficult levels to play to be more of a challenge. I do like the wide variety of character types and very fun to buy character upgrades. Game looks good on excellent quality and plays well. Pricing is right and fair for what you get.
it's actually review for both this game and lords of chaos, they are both basically same game with somehow different heroes and missions. i do recommend. the gameplay is turn based and satisfying. moreover, most teams have good combos which empower all party either for a few turns or till end of the battle. middle-end game the party becomes a bit overpowered (with correct equipment) and manages to clear level in 1- 2 turns. that's actually was my goal starting from midgame - maximize dmg and attacks while having crit and dodge at ~100%. so i spent at weapons shop more time than in missions. music and sound effects are good and also the graphics. replayability is not out of question because different classes of heroes to make a party (despite the same story and same side missions).
Believe it or not, "Demon's Rise - War for the Deep" is not an asset flip. While the game is made primarily out of other people's assets, with placeholder/stock assets and engine elements all taken from asset stores, the developer credited the people who created those assets, which means this isn't the usual attempt to pass of someone else's work as their own. However, while we understandably must call out and warn gamers about the unethical behaviour behind plagiarism and asset flipping, there's the other main reason we hate asset flips (even if this isn't exactly one). It's because they're awful if you try to take them seriously as a game. This is because, and it should be no surprise, when "developers" can't work out how to create their own professional game assets, or lack the budget to hire staff who can, it turns out they're also not really capable or competent at any of the other parts of game development either. And that results in awful games. Games like "Demon's Rise - War for the Deep". "Demon's Rise - War for the Deep" is a Nintendo Switch game, not a PC game. It's not a great port and suffers from a few technical defects from the handheld gaming centric design. What is it, then, in terms of being a game? This collection of other people's assets is like an RPG adventure game if you remove the "adventure" component completely... a bunch of canned turn based tactical encounters that you fight through with your own party or with one of a handful of premade parties if you want to get straight into the "action". And it's boring. There's a little bit of window dressing, but not much, then you're straight into a hex based TBS with no real motivation to play it. There is a welcome depth to the RPG system, a lot of classes and stats and gear, which is nice, but it's not backed up by a rich enough narrative or quality technical execution (because it's a Nintendo Switch game). From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality which fits with the idea they weren't developed by the game creator... they look like they're "just reasonable enough" to go on sale as part of an asset pack. The issue of asset flipping aside, ultimately the quality of these assets is low and low quality always makes for a less than optimal gaming experience. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 110,000+ games on Steam? "Demon's Rise - War for the Deep" has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of around $7 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $7 asking price for this game could get you games like "Lethal Company", "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" or "Kingdom Come Deliverance". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
This game is designed as a series of battles that your chosen characters progress through. In some ways it is similar to Warhammer Quest, and although it does not have the travel and slightly worse graphics it does have a better equipment selection and numerous interesting playable characters. Although short, and replaying it is not really an option due to its simplicity, it is worth trying, particularly if you get it on sale.
Perfect game for me Good turn-based tactical game with big variety of characters, opponents and items. But it keeps crashing at level 5, i hope ill get the help soon.
Well, I really liked [Shieldwall Chronicles], so I tried the dev's other game. But I found their early games are not that polished. Sorry I cannot recommend this.
There's the bones of a decent game in here, but just buried beneath bugs.
is really boring and mundane. don't waste your time
