TL;DR if you're a big fan of metroid prime's exploration and want to scratch that 3d metroidvania itch, play this game, it is worth your time. Just don't go in expecting a grand slam. Delta manifold is very simple in the execution, with relatively cookie cutter weapons and enemies with simple AI. The exploration is definitely this game's best feature. With a sprawling map, it's easy to get lost, and hunting for "sparks" (this game's generic collectible) being a bit annoying in the end-game but nonetheless a good side quest. The game opens up gradually as you unlock upgrades, with some back tracking and shortcuts. I would have liked to see more need for backtracking, as later in the game once I got the third weapon, I realized I had only seen a handful of doors for it, and maybe one for the final weapon outside of the final area of the game. Also, about half way through the game, it feels like the weapons and upgrades, and where you get them, are completely detached from each other. In games like metroid, you have to use the item you just unlocked to solve some puzzle that teaches you how it works, but theres very little of that here. Far from the best in the genre, but it has a TONNE of charm to it, and especially for a single dev, this is an awesome project. I'd love to see the ideas brought in this game expanded upon in a follow up that addresses some of the issues, namely the lack of backtracking in the second half of the game. As well some some other ideas to make this game stand out more as it's own title. Overall a great experience, and coming in at 4-5 hours for a full clear, was definitely worth the play. If you're a massive fan of metroid prime style exploration, grab this game and play it.
If you like Metroid Prime series, give it a try. Exploration as a motivation factor works very well.
If you like exploring, discovering lore, and metroidvania-ing your way through the world and enemies, then this'll do it for you.
Good game overall but too many glitches that make it unplayable and haven't been worked on in a while. My main gripe is I keep dying by clipping through the floor. This happens every time I reload a save and randomly during gameplay. It is really cool game but just needs some work.
Seems solid and fun. I will update this review as necessary but as of now I give it two thumbs up.
i like it
good indie game
I made a 2nd save file because I somewhat soft locked myself on the first one. It is really easy to scale up walls and end up in areas to early. I even skipped most of the game and beat it early with just the double jump and shotgun that I found. The double jump being the main reason I skipped most of the game because of a small hole in the wall I could jump into in the portal room. It honestly seems like it was done in a way so players could get to the end early with how easy it is, but I am not 100% sure on that. Most of the time I was Out of Bounds in the game. The only time I really had to play through an area was to get the double jump and shotgun. I never got the blue or green blaster so I don't know how those function or what those areas even look like. The game needs a bit more polish before I can recommend it.
Erm chat, this might be peak
