Defense Clicker is an clicker game which will be soon F2P, with an tower defense theme and a few twists which make it very unique. You have to build an defense line with towers and upgrade them to stay alive as long as possible. when you die the map resets but you get a few special points depending on how long you survived.

So this developer had some business issues and decided to stop working on this game and turn it free to play. I wish if I had some personal problems I could just drop it and screw over those that put me in the position I am in today instead of honoring my commitments specially to those who spent real money. Instead he takes the easy way out to start another project to pillage more money from hard working folks. Screw this studio and I hope you get whats coming to you for taking the easy way out instead of FINISHING your product. Arencar you will never see another penny from me you cheat. I hope allot of folks read this and blacklist you also. I am trying to bring this to Valves attention to get him removed. I have added 2 tags to this game - scam ware and fraud. Join me in adding this hoping to get it to the front of the queue so others see this. I also see he keeps clearing out the forum posts. All of them.

There are a ton of mechanics to learn, though the problem is that the game doesn’t explain itself very well. The game is a combination of clicker and tower defense. Enemies can be clicked to do damage. The damage is low at first, but it can be upgraded with primes, which are one of the many resources gained by killing enemies. The tower defense portion of the game is the main mechanic of the game. Towers can be built on one of the many squares on the map and do varying amounts of damage and can only hit certain types of enemies. Towers can be upgraded quite a bit. One of the main mechanics is the restart. Every time the player runs out of lives, the wave count restarts. Every single resource collected is kept between restarts except money. It is for this reason that the money upgrades are one of the most important. It allows a player to build more towers before the player restarts.
Game Breakdown
🎮 Gameplay: 🎮 Clicker Gameplay One of the two main mechanics in the game are the clicker-style gameplay. Every time a player clicks on a monster, it takes damage. Thankfully, a damage number appears around where the cursor was clicked. This allowed me to better calculate how many clicks I would need for a monster. Monsters also have health numbers that appear over their heads. The clicker gameplay is pretty straight forward, and I found it a fun distraction while I waited to gain money to build towers. I think that clicking would feel a bit more useful if the damage started off higher. As clickers go, it wasn’t hard to click monsters. The hitboxes for the monster are also quite forgiving. Every click registered where I wanted it to occur, and everything felt smooth. I often just left dealing damage up to my towers. Tower Defense Tower defense is the other of the two main game mechanics. This mechanic feels like the more useful of the two. The map is arranged into a grid and a tower can be built onto every square. The amount of towers on the screen all shooting at the same time can be quite high. Almost every tower has some limitation as to what it can shoot. Some only attack air enemies and some only attack ground. The towers that can attack both have caveats to them. The ballista tower has rather low range and the sniper tower takes a long time to fire. I found that it was fun to try and place towers for maximum efficiency. While ground-based monsters will obviously follow the path, the air-based enemies follow a recognizable, but invisible, path. The more efficient a player’s towers are placed, the more resources they will be able to collect. Every tower kill has a chance to spawn resources after all. Resources & Upgrades Every time an enemy dies, they have chance to drop some resources. Most of these resources must be moused over to collect. The two resources that don’t need to be collected are gold and prime. Gold is used to build towers. Prime is used for a lot of tower upgrades in the game. The first four resources that must all be collected by hand are crystals. These are for tower upgrades, but certain towers need a particular crystal color for their upgrade. The crystal collection maximum is initially low, but it can be increased by upgrading the cap with crystals. Boss souls are collected by defeating bosses. They help to automate the collection of crystals as they can buy collector units. I don’t know what shadow crystals do, and I couldn’t find anywhere that told me what it did. There are four elements also that can be used to buy heroes which will attack automatically for the player. Upgrades aren’t the only way that a player can increase their power. Quests Quests are essentially in-game achievements. Each quest is attached to a buff that directly effects the game. For example, a quest has the player clicking monsters so many times. Once this action is completed, a player gains more clicking damage. This is a way to keep the player invested and so that they have objectives to work towards. Without these quests, I would have had trouble playing the game so long. Especially since the game has a restart technique. I like being given concrete objectives and side quests, so this is a great feature in my opinion. Restarts Instead of dying when the player runs out of lives. The wave counter resets and the player’s money. As mentioned before, all of the player’s resources and towers are persistent between levels. The main point of the game is to try and get as far through the waves as possible. Restarts are not an often used mechanic, or at least one that does not get used correctly. This game uses restarts quite well, as I felt like every wave I was improving. ⚙ Overall:⚙ If someone is looking for a cheap tower defense game to chill with, then I would suggest this game. There is a lot of content for the price and it performs quite well. 🎧 Sound:🎧 Like most tower defense games, the sound is repetitive and is tuned out quite quickly. I would suggest enjoying the gameplay and turning the sound off. Towers shoot quite quickly and they make a sound every time they fire. This is the main reason that the sound becomes repetitive. The music is the best part of the sound. It is quite mysterious and sounds excellent. 📺 Graphics: 📺 The graphics use a cartoony style for its graphics. The flying enemies have some of the best graphics and the best animations. The lines are crisp and the animation looks great. While all the graphics are pretty good, the graphics are a bit inconsistent in quality. The phoenix enemy is high quality while the iron golem is of a noticeably lower quality. The menus are all quite basic in graphical design, but they are all efficient and easy to use. The menus do use too many abbreviations. This makes the menus confusing until a player understands what the abbreviations refer to. There is also a strange green man in the middle of the field who is hammering and building a bridge. He creeps me out and moves up and down when I click him. I don’t know what he is supposed to do. This product was reviewed with a key provided by the developer for free.
Defense Clicker at its core is a very simple tower defense, idle, clicker game that does these things right. You start by building a tower to start the wave-based game-play of monsters. These monsters range from ground types to flying, bosses and ultra bosses (gods) and some will have unique abilities (more health, damage absorption, speed, bonus drops, summon monsters, teleportation, etc,) There is a day/night cycle and weather system (rainy and snow) that will change monster stats. You can set the wave difficulty higher and more monsters for more of a challenge. You'll start to obtain "resources" to start upgrading your towers for more damage, speed, range, etc, some pets to obtain resources when they drop on the field (keep upgrading them to gather resources faster), other pets that attack monsters, and some heroes to help you to kill monsters. You have an in-game level you can level up by killing monsters and when you reach certain level requirements you'll open up jobs (a sort of side class you can all so level up and get more gold, damage to clicks, more tower damage globally (so leveling each job class helps)). Once you finish a run you can reset for some evo's, these will allow you to upgrade some passives to help you go farther in runs and most upgrades to gold and resources storage go back to normal (need to upgrade each run, some passives can upgrade +gold storage). There have been some good and consistent updates to the game. The dev is very helpful and active in the discussions when someone has a question. Events are planned (just had the Halloween event and had a pet you could get by gathering Halloween drops in-game, once you obtained the pet each 5k drops you picked up added 1 extra damage the pet did), and there are 271 achievements to get too. I definitely recommend this game to anyone that liked the idle, tower base games. If you are interested in Steam inventory items this game has x1 drops every hour, drop timer resets when you reset the map. Devs disabled all online features because they "finished" the game. Also no more updates or bugfixes. The game died without getting out of early access.
I actually really enjoy this clicker. It's a more 'active' game than most. The DEV appears, at least for the moment, to be active and updates regularly. No reason not to give it a go if you love your clickers the way I do. Its not free, but nor is there endless DLC or micro transactions. Cheers
GAMEPLAY: 5/5 Defense Clicker is a simple blend of tower defense and idle game. Gameplay consists of placing towers to defend against enemy waves and purchasing upgrades. The 'idle' segment of the game consists of persistent resources and upgrades that remain after you lose all lives, also knows as resets. Resets happen often but as you upgrade, you will survive longer each time. As for the early access aspect of the game, the dev has many improvements planned for the game and updates daily. For such a low price I did not find the early access state of the game discouraging me from purchasing as it normally does. GRAPHICS AND AUDIO: 2/5 Graphically the game could use some improvement. The particle effects are nice but the tower visual designs and general level design could use some improvement, I feel the scattered trees look more clutter than the forest it seems to be trying to be, and the UI blend with the terrain is a good move, it is a little too simplistic and could use a little more texture. Sound and music definitely need some improvement but due to the genre they have minimal impact on my enjoyment of the game, as the inclusion of the mostly automatic 'farming mode' may have you muting them to let it do its thing in the background until you return to the active play mode. SUMMARY: All in all, despite the current flaws of the game, the gameplay itself is enough to warrant my positive recommendation. I have enjoyed my experience so far and look forward to whatever improvements the dev has for the game when they arrive.

To make it short. Defense Clicker is one of the best clicker games I ever played! Actually it is "The Best" clicker game I ever played. :-) And it is not a standalone clicker game at all. It rather combines a clicker game with the aspects of a tower defense game. You are building towers to fend off the hordes of golems, birds and bats instead of this tiredsome hero unlocking and leveling up thing most clicker games use to frustrate players to a point they quite willingly spent a lot of money to just get over with the game. The game is constantly (in fact daily) improved to get rid of the few flaws I never encounterd lol and the dev listens to his audience in aspects of implementing players wishes. I highly recommend this to anyone.
Not sure how to progress or how to make sense of the UI. Where is the currency that I buy towers with or upgrades or research? etc. No idea. Not playable.
I want to like this game, it seems fun and fairly well designed. If I was writing this review three years ago, I say it "has potential". Unfortunately, the game is dead. Three years after its release, it's still in Early Access and has been completely abandoned by the devs. There is absolutely no tutorial whatsoever, and tooltips and descriptions are lacking. You have to figure things out for yourself and fast. Over six hours in and I still feel I don't completely understand what I'm doing. The sounds and music are broken too. To be honest, the only reason I got this game was because it was free and had a bunch of Steam achievements. If you had to pay money (which I believe was the case a year or two ago) I'd say there were no redeemable qualities at all. TL;DR- Dead game, No Tutorial or tips, Only worth getting if you're after Steam achievements.
