A funny lil game that will take you at most 1-2 hours, probably more if you want to clear draft mode. 3 starter decks, 3 bosses to fight. A few bugs, on one of my final boss fight, they just wouldn't attack, and on another, I couldn't play my cards despite having enough mana, but nothing major. Since you can't edit your deck, there's not much place for theorycrafting. Just play whatever comes in your hand unless it'd be really dumb. Strategies are basic, rather well-balanced and easy to grasp, although often relying on specific cards. Thankfully, player HP is generous to compensate bad RNG. There's also a draft mode. Seems fun, but is not really, since you randomly have to choose between cards from all 3 starter decks, which feature distinct strategies. I mostly ended up drafting a bit of everything, making it even harder to pull the right stuff in battle.

Since it is so short and minimal I hope it is more of a proof of concept or demo for something more substantial that is coming along the way. At the very least a player vs player mode would greatly enhance the experience. Besides being small and singleplayer my only real complaint is the amount of dead time inbetween turns. There's a sort of unskippable buffer time after placing cards or moving turns and it can feel like a drag. the long of it Deck of Delirium is a roguelike card battler game that released for free on steam as of April 8th, 2024. It was developed by this list of people and published by DoD INC. I think DoD INC stands for Deck of Delirium Incorporated? In total you'll probably get a bit over an hour (maybe two) of play if you wish to play each of the three deck choices all the way through each of the three enemy battles. Potentially you can extend your gameplay while playing in draft mode which is essentially the same but it gives you a sort of randomized deck. Each deck choice is built around its own unique playstyle, in general, the cat Kibbles is based around FISHing in which case you will draw more cards. The mutant goat Morgreth plays to mutate and manifest while the makeup wearing man Brightside plays a bit opposite of Morgreth in which case he needs to avoid manifesting. Each card has an insanity cost to play and each turn grants you another insanity point to spend. Once ten turns (without mutations) have passed your insanity bar fills and you've manifested. When this happens all the cards change, including the enemies. I think this is an interesting mechanic however matches didn't seem to last long enough for this concept to feel fully developed. Once you bring your card into one of the 5 field positions it'll have seasickness for a turn before being available to attack. There is a 6th slot available for charm cards. In order to win the match you must destroy all the enemy cards and avoid letting them kill your chosen deck captain. Your captain has a lot of health and I feel it is difficult to lose in this game. As far as graphics go there's some nice digital painterly backgrounds and cartoony card art. I think it looks nice but nothing is mindblowing or standout-ish. I might find this artstyle enjoyable because it is so nostalgic to flash games I played in my youth. Perhaps thats my whole opinion on this game in general, it reminds me of a late 2000's flash game on something like kongregate or miniclip. Music is virtually nonexistent but there's some sea sounds in the background. When cards are played they also have quirky voicelines. Again, game is pretty short and feels very easy. It's hard to have complaints though since it is free and objectively isn't bad or broken.
Super fun, creative game that will have you wanting more! Yoho me harties!
This game and it's art were both super fun, I played through and beat all 3 started decks, and messed around with the deck builder for a while. All 3 decks have a completely different play-style, none were too difficult or too easy. This game honestly reminds me of the Exploding Kittens card game, I just wish there was more content. Something like being able to play as the enemy with their decks or something.
Me booty!
I'm normally not a huge card game player but this game has been filled with charm and joy. It's super easy to get into and to develop strategies since each deck is tailored to a certain play style. Super fun game would recommend!
